I dont necesarily believe god will punish those who sin, and I don't believe in heaven or hell. I believe in karma, you commit a sin, soon you will meet consequences of that sin throughout your life. Consequences can also transfer to your souls next life. Let's say in one life, a person treats others with special needs badly, the karmic resolution in the souls next life would be to live as a person with special needs themselves and learn what it is they mocked.
Personally, god created us with an interal ability to pass judgment on our actions, and that is karma.

Well that's like I said. Most, if not all other religions have some degree of earning.

That's what it boils down to. It's a just punishment for sin. But, God has given everyone a chance to have all of their sin forgiven.

Yes you can, but you can't reside eternally in his presence without your sin being punished.

Wouldn't that in turn be the ultimate version of earning? Worship God and take the punishment of your sins for the reward of his eternal presence

The punishment is eternal. And like I've said. You cannot earn your way to heaven in Christian theology.

So no one can reside with him because everyone commits a sin. Even the most microscopic sin will mean eternal punishment. What would be the point in worshipping god if everyones end means eternal damnation?

He came into his creation, lived a sinless life and then died as to take the punishment we deserve and if we trust that he did that he will impart to us his perfection.
