Don't need to read or understand your book to know there is no magic being in the sky the sends people to hell if they don't follow his demands, which by the way were written down by men who "talked to god”. There are plenty of people in mental institutions who can pen a volume 2 if you want.

But, here's where your argument falls apart. The demands that God has for us, he came into his creation and lived out all those demands perfectly and now just asks that we trust that he did it. You don't have to believe that it's true, but if you are going to state that God has all these demands that we must follow, you can't leave out that God did them for us.
-
Here's where you "argument" falls apart. He doesn't exist.
-
And you can believe that. I'm not arguing for his existence. But you made an argument based on a biblical teaching that God demands certain things from us. But you failed to mention the context in which those demands are set. That God had planned since before creation to meet those demands for us.
-
That God had planned since before creation to meet those demands for us.
Implying he exists. And he doesn't.
-
You argued that God demands things of us. Also implying he exists...
-
No, I said that schizophrenic men wrote down their ramblings and sheep like you believed that a magic man in the sky told them what to write.

Edited by GR0MS: 8/24/2015 12:20:31 AMThat was only part of your statement. And the whole "sheep like you" statement is an appeal to your perceived intellectual superiority and you are further proving the point I made in the op.
-
No, it's me saying I can think for myself instead of living by a set of rules based on the ramblings of schizophrenics.
-
Exactly and you're implying that I can't. But, I'm a Christian precisely because I think for myself. And just FYI, no one grew up in a vacuum, we are all influenced by something.
-
I was raised in a fanatically Christian family and it didn't effect me at all. I saw through the obvious bullshit. And living by a set of made up rules because they say if you don't you'll burn in Hell isn't thinking for yourself. Sorry to burst your bubble.
-
Good thing that isn't what Christianity is about. Following rules isn't going to get you anywhere.
-
Good thing that isn't what Christianity is about. Following rules isn't going to get you anywhere.
Lol, OK. Whatever the -blam!- that means.
-
Read your bible and you'd understand.
-
Can't. They only bible I've ever owned went to the dump when I was 16 when I realized how stupid it was to fear and obey a imaginary man in the sky.
-
Too bad
-
You said if we were all influenced by something... then what was God influenced by? hm apparently nothing right? So was he "raised in a vacuum". See this is where your logic falls flat.
-
Nope. I was speaking of humans.
-
I am talking about living-wise. If humans need a root to be created then wouldn't gods need a root as well? That root is from a creative human's brain.
-
I don't have anything against the Bible but the crap Christians add to the bible that isn't written on it is what pisses me off.
-
Lol. Don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself. My life isn't the one dictated by a set of rules from an imaginary man who doesn't give a shit about me.
