you would think it would be easy for scientists to disprove the bible after thousands of years, but it's still holding strong. the bible perfectly matches with historical eras. meanwhile, scientists are constantly rejecting theories and proposing new ones. the burden of proof doesn't lie on us but on them. If they think a Big Bang is real without defining proof, isn't that called faith? atheists are hypocrites man.

The big bang theory (key word is theory) has internal logical consistencies based in facts where as religion doesn't in most cases. So no Atheists aren't hypocrites.

Do you expect me to believe that a man resurrected from the dead? That is historically inaccurate and scientifically impossible. Also the Big Bang is backed by scientific evidence such as the constant expansion of the universe. Not to say that I 100% believe the Big Bang theory is true, I'm still skeptical, but it is more probable than the creation story of the bible.

We self Rez in destiny tho...
lol jk
Edited by Bloom Unknown : 8/23/2015 8:55:26 PMI'm not sure it has held so strong lately considering recent scientific discovery and the age of information. It held strong for the 1900 years, though. You can read about he Big Bang theory and study it and then do the same with the Bible and make a choice. I did. Of course, studying those areas requires research on many parts of the history of religion and science.

No dip it is why would it not it was made at the time yes?
What are you talking about again?

We have proof that the big bang happened...
dumbest comment of the year award! holy ****! I'm not even going to explain why this comment deserves this recognition. muted.

How intellectually dishonest of you.

*Cough* cosmic microwave background radiation

because you dont know yourself?

there is in fact evidence in support for the Big Bang, like the fact that our universe is still expanding. Faith, by definition, is belief without evidence. So no, atheists who follow the Big Bang theory are not basing their knowledge of it on faith. As for the burden of proof, the Big Bang doesn't disprove anything. Theists make the positive claim that there is a god. I, as an atheist, reject your claim. Why is this concept to hard to understand? Anyways, I'd rather follow what scientific theories, which are always changing and developing based on new information, than what an ancient book written 5,000-2,000 years old proposes.

Yep, silence all opposition. Smart.

Proof or theory?
-
A scientific theory, meaning a theory backed up by facts, laws, ect.
-
Theory Is backed up by possible explanation A Law is observed and tested no matter what variables are put upon the theory

Seriously proof of Big Bang?
-
Cosmic microwave background radiation

-
Do you mean things like Cosmic Background Radiation and the fact that the universe is expanding?
-
That's not nessacarily from the Big Bang, it is plausible, but there could be other ways of that occurring
