That isn't the point. God would know how strong Abraham's faith was without having to put him and his poor son through such torture. I know he stopped him from doing it. Also, this idea of God judging what is evil and that somehow justifies that murdering every man, woman and child in the city is okay is crazy talk. So it's okay for God to kill people that have a different idea of God? Rebelling against God should not be punishable by death. I know it says that, which is another reason to find it untrue. This is a horrible thing you believe is true. "we are his creation and he can rightly judge us" "You must conform, or be judged" Evil shit. What makes your God the right God? There are hundreds of Gods being worshiped by people right now but yours is the right one? It's a delusional thought to suspend your reason and logic to believe in ancient mythology still in 2015.

The test was more for Abraham than it was for God. And yes God is absolutely just in his judgements. Like I said before, the only problem is that you don't like it, so you reject it. These are accounts in the bible, so the bible needs to be the basis for our arguments. You cannot justify your position biblically that God didn't have morally justified reasons for his judgements, but I can justify my position. If you want to reject God, then that's your choice, but when formulating an argument based on literature, we need to take into account all of what that literature states about the subject of our arguments. Also, prove that it's mythology.

  • You are limiting the argument to a basis the the other side doesn't believe in, and has no ground to stand upon, there for this is an abusive limitation and is discarded from the argument. You are arguing atheism vs Christianity there for you can defend your side through the bible but you cannot wholely limit the argument to it.

  • No, I'm arguing that atheist arguments against the bible and therefore Christianity are devoid of an understanding of what the bible actually teaches.

  • You said, and I quote, "these are the account of the bible, so the bible needs to be the basis of your argument". Tell me how you aren't limiting the argument.

  • The point is that they are saying, "this thing written in the bible doesn't make sense" and I'm saying, " if you actually read the bible and study the context, then that thing written in the bible would make sense. "

  • It conflicts with science. They aren't saying the bubble conflicts with itself.

  • Actually they do. And it doesn't conflict with science.

  • On many accounts it does. Such as how long it to the earth to form/be created.

  • It doesn't state how long. It uses the term days which has many different meanings. As a matter of fact, it says that God rested on the 7th day and according to the bible that rest is still going on. That's a long day...
