I don't think they have clarified what's going to happen to etheric light. If they become useless for TTK I hope you can trade them for something. Kind of like you consumed your consumables for rep in HoW after TDB. But hopefully alot more rep or something more valuable since etheric light is a lot harder to come by compared to what consumables was.
But I don't know, just hoping I quess...

I'm purely guessing here but, aren't all year one weapons getting their damage bumped down to a new high value? In the reveal last week DeeJ's Suros was at 190 not 365. Now, I don't know if that's the new max damage for year one, to allow new weapons. But they said that while the damage value is lower than we are used to it will still behave like a 365 weapon in year one activities. So, I am thinking all year one weapons won't need ascending post TTK. Therefore, I suspect leftover Etheric Light will be used as a one time trade in. Another sub question to this, with regards to Etheric Light, is our Light level. They said that come 9/15 you're light level will now be an average based on your damage and defense values. They also said they will take into account your inventory and Vault items with this value. Sooo.. Does it make sense to blow any extra light one has and ascend as many items as you can before 9/15 or no?
