You make an extremely valid point with the beta test analogy, how expensive the expansion is, and how there is ZERO benefit to being a year 1 player. I 100% agree. I will offer a counter argument though. And you don't have to be convinced by this because you are entitled to your opinion. But, frankly, it is your own fault for putting time and effort into a game and not having the fun of playing the game be it's own reward. You say "Destiny isn't an mmo!" But they are treating it like an mmo. So in that respects it kind of is whether you like it or not. And if you don't like how that operates you shouldn't play this game. I personally want new things, I like the sense of progression. If you want to use the same guns for every situation over and over again this game does not cater to you. And I will say in bungie's defense mmo esque games are very difficult to make, and Bungie has never made one before. And it is one of the most post patched games per year ever so they are trying. Does that make up for the lack of polish and content in this game at the start vs price? Maybe? Not really. And you have every right to feel like your time and money is wasted but they are trying, they are refining the experience and making improvements and learning. And if you enjoy the core of this game, or you are eager to see what this game's newer, and undoubetdly better forms can be you kind of have to just deal with the price tag. That would be a reason to purchase The Taken King. If not there are plenty of other games out there, and I wouldn't blame you for picking them up.
