Reminds me of players in strike who sit at the start and only come for the boss battle. Sadly, I have seen them get exotics and legendaries while the players who worked the hardest get nothing. I guess that is what the report for inactivity is for. Does it actually help? Don't know.

Effort=work. You are investing time to get rewards. Much like any other kind of work. You work in the yard, you are rewarded with a nice looking yard. You work at your job, you are rewarded with money. Why your definitions so strict? You work for Websters?
