Its not like we arent ever going to see a good exptic again. Theres so much that we havent seen in TTK that we have yet to discover and learn. Ultimately Destiny was originally designed to be an MMO/RPG, that means progression happens, change happens. Bungie has alot of fans from the halo series that ultimately switched over to destiny probably. As well, alot of people come from other very linear FPS games such as CoD. Im not saying everyone did, but im pretty sure alot were. Im certain we've just seen the tip of the iceberg with TTK. Theres going to be more weapons, more armor, new classes, a new raid, the list goes on. Destiny needs to advance and move forward, not be stuck in the past using the same weapons and armor that we acquired at what will be three quarters of the maximum level. There will be new things coming out and we are all dissing the new DLC before it even drops. Its like back in week 2 when i first got gjallarhorn, my second exotic. I was like "the f is this?" And continued using my red death because i didnt want to change my ways. When i started using that beautiful launcher (and finally leveled it), i instantly fell in love. To be honest, im excited that i get to have new weapons to try out and make new favorites and fall in love with the game over again. In terms of my second point which also solidifies my first, the majority of people who play are ex Halo and CoD players. They dont ever have to worry about their favorite gun becoming obsolete because the game is very linear, and doesnt offer much progression except for aesthetic things. The same weapons, the same gear, all the time. Destiny is not like that. We need to come out of our linear FPS thinking and realize Destiny isnt just another FPS. It offers progression, it offers (although limited until TTK) customization, it offers things that Halo and CoD didnt offer and the game is advancing and evolving into something even better in year 2. In Borderlands, you didnt just stick with one gun, you found others that eventually replaced it. You found things that were better, rediculously higher powered than the one you had before. I think Bungie is making a smart decision in leaving some exotic weapons behind. It promotes progression and advancement towards the new highest level. Alot of things are going to be changing in year 2, dont be caught up in nostalgia and allow yourself to miss out on the full experience of The Taken King.
