Because I believe if bungie can make kickass year one weapons they might be able to make even more kickass year two ones.

[spoiler]Shank Burn[/spoiler] Their track record ain't that good but hell maybe they do make great weapons! I still would want my exotics to be as relevant as the new ones! Legendaries I can understand

Look I know how and tdb didn't have the best weapons, but those were minor dlcs this is literally the second year of destiny pushing the main game and story forward.
