I don't want the same weapons in this game for ten years. I think I will be fine with my upgraded NLB and leaving gjallarhorn behind.

Destiny 2 is already in the works and will probably release or be announced next year September so I don't see the issue with allowing us to upgrade, at the very least, exotics.
