Not all exotics will be left behind. Even still, most exotics and legendaries that are left behind will still be usable in a few activities. It's more than a lot of other RPGs do.
It just seems worse in Destiny because there was more grinding to get less gear.

RPGs have a developed story and characters worth caring about. Destiny is not an RPG and should not be compared to RPGs. Destiny is just the new version of COD.

That first line is just utterly wrong. A developed story and good characters are not requirements for a genre.
