For people who are fine with gally ( and one year exotics) being left behind...
Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.

I had fun before I got gjally or [insert other exotic here], and I'll have fun after they're no longer useful to me. Would I prefer for my favorite weapons to stay with me for the long journey? Sure. A good gun is like an old friend. Sometimes you just like knowing they're there if you need them. I have much more important things to get upset about in life rather than focusing on the negative side of my chosen forms of entertainment.

The game is actually going to grow for once. Why would I want to use the same things?? It's boring as hell to use the same 4 weapons all the time. Who cares if I can't use gally if there's something that does more damage

2 RepliesThis is how alot of games work. If you don't like it that's fair enough but it doesn't make us sheep or fanboys bla bla for not only understanding this but actually liking it. As good as the guns are I'm a little bored with them. So out with the old and in with the new, and I can can't wait :)

They aren't left behind. Most exotics aren't usable til level 40. They'll be wonderful til you hit that mark. Or if you start a new character or whathaveyou.

Because I've been using the same guns for countless months and want something new. Why would I want the same old rocket for another year?

Because i got bored of using fatebringer, black hammer and gjallerhorn for every single endgame pve activity in the game

Yea I was hoping new legendary gear every large expansion but the exotics always come with you bonuses points if you can't earn exotics from past expansions

16 RepliesBecause would you really want to use the same guns for the next ten years? Also gjallarhorn is too powerful and so will always be the main exotic for end game content (unless they make something equally or more OP which I doubt they will). The new exotics will go unused because everyone would stick with gjallarhorn. The game should not have to be based around gjallarhorn (eg: bosses having more help to combat gjallarhorn's high DPS) which leaves people without it in a bad situation. What don't you agree with?

This is a rpg not a full shooter... Weapons should be rotated. A new WoW expansion comes out and people grind for the new weapons. They are ok with it. A shooter gets a new expansion and the weapons rotate out and everyone looses their minds. :-) Ps: gally 2.0 could come with destiny 2. It is a 10 year game...

Just wait. Year 3 will come around and Gally 2.0 will hit. Or Year 5. It's just the way of things.

3 RepliesSo, let me ask you a question. If you like CoD Black ops and you play it for well over a year. Then Black Ops 2 comes out...do you think they are going to bring in the original Famas into the 2? Now, this is a little bit of a stretch, however, it's point is to illustrate that this is Destiny 2. With a 10 year plan, I DON'T WANT TO USE GALLY FOR 10 YEARS. Also, use it for all the year 1 activities if you miss/will miss it so much.

I am a day 1 player (beta) and am 100% ok with it. I get why some are not but for me it's a relief. I am bored playing with the same weapon load out for all end game content. This forces me to change it up a bit. It's my opinion that Vanilla weapons where too op to begin with and it's hard to keep raising the bar. It's sad really that two DLCs later and people would still rather rock the vanilla weapons that alone says they were not balanced correctly and the only solution is to not continue to allow you to ascend them. For me I don't think I am a sheep I am just embracing the change and looking forward to new toys to enjoy Also year 1 weapons will still be useful for maybe 70% of the game (totally made that % up) at least all year 1 content so if you want to you can still use them just as you go now they just won't be as effective with TTK content.

5 RepliesThe ppl on lfg and other match making groups are to blame for this. Requiring max gally to join bs.. So to be honest I'm glad it's going (not that it bothered me none had it the first time xur sold it)

I'm only happy because now I know I won't Feel like it's a detriment to have something other than a gjally equipped. I'm only a bit disappointed though because I thought exotics were the one sure set of weapons/gear that would follow us throughout the entire destiny franchise. On the upside, it'll still be useful in year 1 activities.

1 ReplyJust imagine that gjallarhorn is pulled through every year of destiny it will still be in you exotic slot, no chance for any of the other new exotics to have a chance. Don't get me wrong I love gjallarhorn I use it all the time but since I got it its been all I use no more ice breaker or mida. Gjallarhorn is a disease in the players inventory it sits in the heavy slot and doesn't leave
