THE NO EXOTIC LEFT BEHIND PROGRAM
From the beginning of the Destiny Universe (Launch) we as guardians have been grinding for an entire year. We grinded for Vex Mythoclast. We grinded for Necrocasm and still are. We grinded the boring pile of shit we know as Prison of Elders. We grind these repetitive activities know as Strikes and Nightfalls and Raids. (Well raids aren't that repetitive) For all these exotics. From Weapons to Armor. Us as a consumer, no, a community have put in more than over 1000 hours into this game.
We became addicted and most of all desperate, to obtain our favorite weapons. And not only that but we grinded hours of crucible and Vanguard strikes to level up those favorite weapons after it took us months to get them.
Now that we have The Taken King arriving in 3-4 weeks, it has been announced that 60-70% of all our exotics will not be "redesigned" for the upcoming DLC.
Weapons like the Hard Light and Necrocasm will not compete against the new Exotics. With this information our community has been set a blaze. Angered, and felt betrayed even after being so loyal. Many say we should stop crying and deal with it. Some say other wise. Well I say... No! We should scream at Bungie, make them hear our voices. This is not what the consumer wants. We as a community. We understand that our developer wants us to play a certain way. But when it comes to our money on what we paid for. This is back stab. Everyone in the community should go against this outright abomination of a company at this point in life, and make them bring back for what we paid for. We earned these exotics, majority of them we got from Engrams, nightfalls and Raid. They done a lot to us to make us happy. But we cannot simply ignore the things that make us upset.

[b]Edit 2:[/b] Also remember we never got to experience the power of the Auto Rifles during the House of Wolves. They were nerfed to the ground and almost unsuble. Most of the Dark Below Auto Rifles as well.

I propose we look to the future instead of holding on to the past. Does the U.S. Military still use WWI equipment? No because things evolve. Let's see what weapon evolution brings.

Sure, use some of the new ones of course, but try and use year 1 only exotics as much as possible (no y2 versions of Suros etc). Even if it makes playing some of the newer content harder because you're not doing as much damage, if we continue to use the old stuff we have, hopefully Bungie will see the figures and realise they made a mistake leaving all our old gear behind. Although, knowing Bungie, seeing us continue to use Y1 exotics 6 months after TTKs release, instead of offering a new etheric-light-solution, they'd probably nerf all the old stuff even more. I also hope they see that stats for people playing VOG, Crota, POE and Y1 strikes goes WAY down because no one can be bothered with those any more. I enjoy those activities, but what incentive do I have to play those any more? The gear is useless apart from within those activities, it won't help much in the new content. I love those activities, I love VOG, but I can't justify an hour of my time doing something I enjoy when I can do something in TTK that I enjoy and actually earn some worthwhile new gear. If all our Legendary/Raid items could be carried over, it would give people a reason to seek a full set of VOG gear or POE gear. It may be useful for the old raids, normal crucible etc, but we still want to play the new content! We want the new gear, but we also want the choice AND stay competitive at the highest level possible.

2 RepliesMy only hope is that Bungie had not completed all of the programing for TTK. Deej was playing in the TEST server. It could be that the game weapon designers have not finished all of the art or graphics for the new 2.0 exotics. And that is why we are not seeing the necrochasm or Hardlight as a year 2 blueprint. Bungie has said that the ghorn will not be upgraded, but has not commented on any other weapon. The weapon patch 2.0 talks about redesigning the Hardlight and necrochasm. That leads me to believe they will be 2.0 versions otherwise why did they waste their time modifying the perks. Programs are lazy. They didn't put in effort for outdated code. They would rather delete or archive it.

I don't care that much, but I really don't think they should leave necrochasm behind. I don't have it, but they are buffing it, and people put in lots of work to get that gun, never to use it at its top potential. Also, I don't think that they should make a new version of every exotic, but they should allow you to ascend all of them.

Signed. Agreed. I understand yr1 legendaries being outed to an extent, but every exotic is unique and there aren't 5 or 6 versions of each weapon class. Anyway, question on a related subject. In the stream they talked about being able to recover any previous exotics we broke down/shared. Does that mean from year 1, so for example getting back the last word which I didn't think Id use at the time , or is that only going forward in year 2. Thanks

It almost feels like TTK is a complete reset. While some of it is lame excited for TTK. However, if this is the plan for every expansion than I'm out.

It makes me not want to even grind for shit since it has a very high chance of being thrown out/nerf every DLC. Like who in the world makes these stupid ass decisions at bungie. 1. House of wolve's selling point. - Hey guys you get to keep all your favorite weapons and level them to max damage if you want, including all of your exotics and armor. Shank burn.... A Few Moments later...... 2. Taken King - F@#K your couch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Screw your favorite weapons, screw your favorite exotics and armor. Forget everything your grinded for and spent hours trying to get. Am I the only one who sees this nonsense? Why Cant we make the game where exotics compete with each other?

4 RepliesI'm sorry that whatever exotic (probably gjallarhorn that you bought) isn't getting an upgrade and will be inferior but it could be worse... They could release this as destiny two wipe out whatever gear you had. They never said you can't use year one exotics that don't get upgraded. As a matter of fact they said in year one content they will act exactly as they do now (to a certain extent). If you hate this change so much stop playing. If you don't stop playing stop bitching. It's people bitching that get things ruined... Thorn, vex, gjallarhorn, suros. Everyone bitched about then they got (will get) nerfed into the ground... Shut your mouth and live with how bungie wants to make their game or don't play it!

Not carrying over Y1 exotics in full says only one thing to me: They're going to save Gally and some of the others for a later date in another DLC. It's a crown jewel...they know we want it. And they'll hold it till they have something new to sell.
