The fact that everyone flies to conclusions without any support is astounding. No where did bungie post or Sat that the strangers rifle is linked at all to No time to explain. Also, it isn't being upgraded to an exotic for those people who are really dumb. The one in the video was no time to explain which looks similar.

So? Husk of the pit V Eidolon ally V Necrochasm... It happened with that so it shouldn't be outlandish or ridiculous to think that the stranger's rifle might receive similar treatment. ESPECIALLY with all the things bungie is adding hat really push the theme of actually upgrading things yourself and not relying on rng to give you [i]everything[/i].

It looks exactly alike, with the glow on the end of the barrel and everything. The Necrochasm had a similar mechanic of ascension, so why would it make more sense to release a completely new gun with the same model when they can just allow SR to be turned in for or ascended to a Legendary and subsequently Exotic weapon?
