Sure it does! Knowing that even though you die, you live an afterlife in an eternal paradise is one of the most tempting reasons to not care about death I can think of.

Death is still an absolutely terrifying concept in my mind, even assuming I'm always 100% faithful (which few people truly are). And then death has more implications then simply going to heaven. If I was a terrible person I could spend that eternity in Hell, or if I'm an average person I could spend millenniums in Purgatory, which is as painful as Hell.

That is a good point, but it still is far less scary when you know you are a devout Christian, and are therefore certain God will accept you into Heaven.

His 14 and he sees logic. Where's yours Christians? I feel like Christianity is just a way to control people. In medieval times it was basically "Do this and your sins will be paid for." No one had nothing else to believe in. Why do you think there's multiple religions practiced today. Not every single one could be true if there are so many. You want to believe in something believe in yourself. Make your life the best you can because once it is over it is over. There's no afterlife, unless you want to prove that? Which you can't because if you die who will you contact? If there is no afterlife. Get it together people. We aren't dumb anymore

Yet you fell for that bait. The problem with your rebuttal was the fact it consisted of a massive over simplification and generalisation. Furthermore the problem with your reasoning for being atheist is that it has so many holes, that your ship would sink in the dock. Continuing on, Christians may be forcing their opinions, but you're simply no better than they are, by forcing your own view on others.

Lol I'm 12 and thought of this exact thing before I stumbled onto it now. (Was trying to think of what was past the edge of the universe and here we are with more things we can't conceptualize... I got bored) anyways, you already understand how the brain works, so i'd suggest trying psychology.
