Don't Worry About It
It's solved, so don't worry about it. It turns out it was a really big misunderstanding on my part. I was wrong about what happened. Don't worry about it and just click on a different post.

Sounds like some douchbags. Anyway, if you want to be a Marine, please see the film: [i]Full Metal Jacket[/i] By Stanley Kubrick. It stars a real marine DI named R. Lee Ermey, he was originally hired as a consultant but Kubrick found out Ermey could scream insults for 39 mins straight and never have a repeated insult. He was cast as the DI and in fact the beginning of the film was changed and extended to feature more of him. My point is, if you watch this film you will see that there actually is a reason why DI's abuse you, it's to toughen you up. So as some have said, let it go, and join the Marines, those nerds will be padding their virtual self-importance while you are out actually doing something with your life.

I'm also pretty confident in that no moderator would do the things you described. I'm less familiar with the mentors but I would assume they got that label for being helpful.
