So far, its been a pretty damn good month. I jumped into this game knowing full well about its blatant flaws; lack of story and interesting content, little to no context as to the world I'm in and why I'm doing these things, zero immersion etc etc. Even then, I still had an alright time in this game. The gameplay itself is pretty stellar and the PVP is incredibly exciting although it's not totally balanced. Gjallarhorn dropped in my first week of playing and Hawkmoon in the second. I somehow managed to get all 3 exotic hand cannons and even got a few raid primaries as well. RNGesus had been pretty nice towards me while I beat down Crota, Atheon, and Skolas. However, my luck isn't what this thread is about.
I'd like to talk about /WHY/ I even got this game and had already pre-ordered TTK. Well, like many others... its because I have hope for Bungie to really deliver an incredibly awesome experience. I have hope that Bungie can eventually deliver the experience that Halo gave to us all. I can NEVER forget the first time I played Halo: Combat Evolved when I was 11 years old. I was thoroughly engrossed in the gameplay and lore from the get-go. My friend and I played the games campaign nonstop until we beat it. That was probably the first time I had ever really marathoned through a game. I feel like Destiny itself is just one giant work in progress that will eventually get better with time. Its rather unfortunate that instead of delivering a full experience, they minced it up and make us pay for it as DLC. Still, I hope the game lives up to what we had originally hyped it up to be. It might not be with the Taken King DLC that does this but who knows? Maybe future DLC will fix Destinys faults and make it feel more like an actually immersive universe with fantastic story telling. They've already got the gameplay aspect down. They just need to nail the rest of it to really hit out of the park.
I'd like to see sparrow racing, more expansive social environments, customization options for our ships as well as being able to actually walk around them instead of using them purely for loading screens. MORE dialogue from NPC's we interact with so we can get to know them better as characters in our world and not just random bots who sell us items or give us quests to do. Make me actually care about my importance as a Guardian instead of just having me feel like hopping around to go "pew pew destroy bad guy because he's bad!!1!!!!". PLEASE create interesting boss fights that aren't walking bullet sponges with the exact same moves. I want to be EXCITED to kill a boss and not go "Oh boy, Valus again! TIme to spam Gjallarhorn because he's so boring to fight." A good boss fight is engaging. It makes you think on your feet and react accordingly.
I want Bungie to know that I believe in them. Please don't fail me. Please?
Here's the Halo 3 main menu screen for some nostalgia: http://halome.nu/h3
TL;DR : I've had fun playing Destiny and hope it gets better even though its not perfect!

Add a tl;dr version at the bottom of your post. Wall of text = Ain't nobody got time for that.
