I like the idea, but from what there saying it doesn't matter if they implemented this into the game your year one legendary weapons and gear are useless now. There speech about how you can personalize your guardian was bullshit, there's no personalization when everyone's wearing the new armor because there better than the old armor. I personally don't care about legendary weapons but I would like it if my vanilla armor like my ghost angel helm (not wearing atm but love the way it looks) I want to be wearing year one gear 10 years from now and new people wonder how did you get that armor, I could say "I got this armor before any of the dlc in year one." I'm done with destiny tell I learn more, I already played alpha beta or beta as they would call it and I already payed 80+ destiny or there beta as I would call it; now the question is will the 40+ extra for TTK be the real deal or just another price tag we gotta pay for there mistakes. None the less I'm done ranting. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Sincerely, A fellow Guardian

  • Due to the validity of your comment, and the fact the video uses year one gear as examples, your feedback topic was added in an edit. Seriously, this is why I'm glad you and others share feedback. Cause it matters.

All very valid points my friend. In no way am I trying to change your points, just responding to them respectfully. While it's true that all gear from year one will be substantially of less value (to what degree we will only know after TTK), the topic of Smiths interview which I mentioned "if" Bungie implemented this system we are discussing from the vid somewhat procures the greater value of that year one gear. Like you stated the year 1 gear... useless. Now, regardless of Bungies attempts to point out that "Dont delete your old gear just yet" (as per David Dagues recent newsfeed posts), the old gear does maintain use in launch day and vanilla core game activities. Minus the ones they are removing via TTK (like the cabal strike transferring to a TTK boss etc). Over the 4-5 days of technical issues with other vid apps on my phone wasting my time, there was a point I reached where mentioning EXACTLY what you stated "gears now useless" and "so this vid I just made btw Bungie, is irrelevant." I didn't say it. It crossed my mind. But it wasn't my point. The point is that "gear telling our story" wasn't in the game pre-launch, post launch, and even implemented after Smiths interview. And if it was, Luke wouldn't be stating that very issue was "their dilemma". What I would've loved was if what I'm suggesting in this video was in-the-game. If I inspected you in game (which I do a lot in the tower, inspecting players) in any area, and looked at your helm without any legacy etchings, your (talking in general about helms) helm would fall into your history being: Faction bought, Xur, Specialty item, RNG and/or RNG reward (talking about helms in general, non-specific). If Bungie put the "LEGACY ETCHINGS" into play, and I inspected you, your helm would tell me where you got it or found it, how many (via Bungies discretion of designing it into the etchings) were with you when you accomplished victory (or alive for that matter, if you were last man standing at Skolas and got the kill shot while teammates were down no number of players would be displayed on the etching), and your feats using it afterwards. Solo Crota? 4 man Atheon? Point is, I agree that Bungie had a good advertising campaign. And what you've earned with or without friends shouldn't be de-valued or tossed aside by those who stated what you earned tells your story as you become "Legend". If this system was the institution for every players history, legacy, and legend... maybe Bungie wouldn't have had a 7-7.5 rating, maybe the value of what we've earned would mean more to them (and some players), and instead of everyone's legacy being "Bought from Xur, decrypted, faction or RNG", maybe our legacy for every player would be our legend. Because no ones story on that road would be identical. Ever. Props and respect in your viewpoints. They are valid. AND Ty for your feedback. It matters, if not to others it still does to me regardless.
