Greetings Guardians, So Xur is selling Gjallarhorn on behalf of his (her?) masters, on what I hope will forever become known as August14th: The Day of the Nine. I probably did a triple take on checking in with the app, blurry eyed from sleep and the disbelief of it all. Some people are angry about this, but not me - why would I be? My reaction was one of disbelief, excitement, pure joy. Gjallarhorn is special to this community and I'm delighted for those who've never dropped it. What an incredible moment in the ever unfolding story that is Destiny. Everyone must know, everyone must be included and from the looks of the forum: everyone cares! Which is great! I've been playing since beta. I bought the Gjally used by my Hunter during those fledgling weeks just because it looked pretty. Did I earn it then? You damn right I did. I put everything into desperately farming those coins before Xur was off and at that time it was hard. I've gone on the drop that elusive bastard another 4 times since. In my experience, plan C is a rarer gun! But that's just how RNGesus rolls. People have bought it before, players have dropped it in a raid, a nightfall, the crucible. I've seen players decode it from an engram! So go on you proud new owners of that beautiful beast, go forth and slaughter the darkness with reckless abandon. You deserve it.
