I had said I stopped playing a number of times, but not that I ever quit. If I had quit, like I did back with Dark Below, I wouldn't be bothering to post on here like I did back then. It wasn't until I came back to Destiny due to the House of Wolves that I started getting active on the forums again. You can check my activity if you want, you'll notice the very large gap in my post history if you go back far enough. Also, out of curiosity, is there a reason you feel the need to follow me around the forum? o.o

  • I'm not intentionally following, you're just a high-profile individual who's in the same TZ as me. I'll take your word on the posting history. I'm just tired of seeing people who've "quit the game" shit up the forums.

  • Ah, fair enough. But yeah, no. Haven't quit yet. Was actually on last night for, uhh...30 minutes? Something like that. Wife was playing the PS4 and I decided to might as well go ahead and attempt grinding out the exp for some of this gear I've got on my Warlock. That final "hurrah" before TTK drops, so to speak.

  • That makes sense. Since there's room for reasonable discussion, I'd like to pose a question: Assuming that loot in TTK is dropped according to level (big assumption), would you still have a problem with current end-game players still getting better gear? Moreover, if the players in the demo were level 40, would you be ok with those greens being better than current legendaries? I only ask this because while a lot of other TTK complaints hold ground, this one I just find odd/

  • Hmm. Well to clarify I'm not really against the notion of getting better gear. That's something to be expected, honestly. The main issue I have is that item grade should have an actual meaning. Legendary should always be comparable to other Legendary, and same for Exotics. Funny enough, they actually do this in the case of Exotic weapons because those are largely more difficult to acquire and are essentially endgame content. But this also brings into question the problem regarding gear acquired from Raids, which are endgame activities and on the whole much more difficult to obtain. I feel like the system itself hasn't really been totally hammered out yet, and I believe letting it slide this time would only encourage a repeat for every other year to follow for the game. I mean, Year 2 they are putting out all these weapons and that's going to be the new reason for players to grind. But then what happens Year 3? For Year 4? Same thing? You figure that's a lot of time and effort that is being put towards getting things that are just going to be tossed out anyway, and its especially sad to think about when you consider the amount of artwork and detail that goes into making said weapons as well. I think I would much rather they keep the old stuff relevant going forward, make it less about Max Damage and more about the creative differences between the weapons such as their attributes/perks which should determine what is actually better gear-wise. As far as if the players were level 40... It would mean weapons scale to the players, but at the same time I think its just wrong for a Green or Blue to be superior to a Legendary or Exotic. Cause you know they're gonna end up introducing some method to upgrade current Exotic stuff. I just don't see why they can't do the same for Legendary. Its basically the same argument too for them as well, if they are adding all these new Exotic weapons what is stopping people from just continuing to use the old ones? But we already know people WOULD use and collect the new ones as well, which is exactly what would happen with the Legendary weapons as well, if for no other reason than the fact that the new stuff just looks so badass.
