The only thing you can "earn" in this game is strange coins. Let me explain... Because of RNG anyone who does an activity has a chance at anything. I've seen people who die right away in raids get the G-horn while I get shards. Is that "earning" it? No! It's RNG. The only thing you can earn is guaranteed drops. Like strange coins from weeklies. The harder you do it on the more coins you get. That's earning your coins. Then you buy something from a vendor with your coins that you earned. Therefore if you buy the G-horn from Xur you are earning it.
