Ash Factory Might Reference China And The Black Plague..

Recently I have been deciphering weapon Meanings and.. I thought of this.. Here is the link to the post of all of the Meanings I've done so far https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/145379466/0/0 This Weapon has lots of possibilities, the description reads Blot out the sun, which suggests that it blocks out the sun. lots of ashes could do that. Now the name, Ash Factory... Along with the Chinese Book, china is also a producer of many things, which could cause lots of pollution and block the sun, because of lots of Factories. Another thing is that China also was where the Black Plague started. The Black Plague involved ashes, as told in Ring around the Rosie. They would burn the bodies of those infected to prevent the disease from spreading, making china an Ash Factory My final idea is that it may be like a Volacano, they produce ash (Like a Factory) and Block out the sun with the ash.

    • the name along with the flavor text are essentially an exaggeration saying that the launcher will deal enough death through incinerating its targets with rocket blast's that the resultant ash will "blot out the sun", in the same way that if enough volcano's erupt around the planet at the same time, the resultant ash thrown into the atmosphere could eventually block sunlight, leaving the earth to freeze. Unlike with other weapons names and flavor text's, I don't believe this weapon is referring to anything historical. Just my opinion though.

Without offending anyone and simply citing it for historical reference, it could, with that logic, also reference the Holocaust and Auschwitz and what was done there. They literally cremated a lot of Jews so that, in the event of a seize, they would have no evidence of a crime. Also, so many people perished there that ground for burial came at a premium. There was simply no room. Crematoriums, or "ash factories", produced so much ash from so many burning bodies that ash literally fell from the sky like snowflakes. Also, you misread the description. The word is " blot", not bolt. Blot has an entirely different meaning. It in fact means, in this case, to "completely cover or obscure its view".
