I think people that treat females poorly on the internet treat everyone poorly; they latch on to the first thing they observe and insult you over it. If you're a max rank, you're a loser who plays too much. If you're a low rank, you're a loser who should never play. If you are mid-rank/ 1 k/d ratio, you're a loser who will never be good enough to play with pros. Same goes with having a stutter, an accent, or just talking in general. You will be insulted just for playing with OR against them. I think the question shouldn't be why females are insulted, but rather why being a female is an insult...not that many of the insults heard while playing make sense anyway.
