Agreed, have asked for this multiple times, no response.
It's my hope that it is included in the 2.0 update. Wishful thinking.
My TV is beyond repair at this point, this is the only game with a HUD that causes issues on my set, likely due to extended play.
Bungie please fix this.

It's not extended play. Has extended play caused image retention from other games. I'll bet no.

Heavy extended use. Forgetting to switch it up can cause it. I doubt the TV is ruined, as true burn in is very, very, very hard to do with any PDP's newer than say 2005. That said, it can months for pesky IR to fade away. A@S, keep running the screen wipe all night, and think of purchasing the Disney WOW which has a pixel flipper. It might take a while, but it should fade with time.
