When alcohol enters the bloodstream, it takes a day at MOST to rid of it. When Marijuana enters the bloodstream, however, it takes a MONTH for it to be completely disposed. The effects may go away, but it is still there. You may think, "so what?"
If a police officer pulls you over a week after you were wasted and performs a blood test, the officer will find nothing wrong with you. If a police officer pulls you over a week after smoking Marijuana and performs a blood test, guess what, yo ass is gettin' sent to jail.
*edit*
That is, if you are in a state where the drug is illegal.

One method of testing for alcohol is by drawing blood into 2 viles. The police department will send those samples to a lab where they will test the blood for alcohol. What happens with alcohol is that it gets absorbed into your bloodstream and then it goes to the brain affecting your judgment and reasoning. The samples will come back from the lab and will show the percentage of alcohol in your blood. Marijuana works the same way. When you smoke it, it gets absorbed into your bloodstream and goes to the brain. The difference between Marijuana and alcohol is that alcohol leaves the body MUCH quicker than alcohol.
