One thing that stuck out:
In Egyptian mythology, Horus, the god of the sun, is the child of Osiris. What does that have to do with anything you ask? Well, the last bosses in the main storyline were the Sol Progeny, which is translated to the "Descendants of the Sun." The Sol Progeny would be the descendants of "Horus," who was created by Osiris. Maybe Osiris went too mad from his studies of the darkness, accidentally created the black heart (horus) and caused the Sol Progeny to come into existence? It would be a paradox, Osiris creates the black heart, makes the past vex evil, so a younger Osiris can become obsessed with the darkness and end up creating the black heart.
Another interesting bit:
Horus, his 4 sons, and 2 other deities were known as the SEVEN Shining Ones who protected Osiris's body.

Why stop there? I think it goes further back than that. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was resurrected by Isis in order to conceive Horus. Did you ever wonder what SECURE ISIS was from the Golden Age? Whatever it is, part of the Secure Isis initiative consisted of an Annihilation Pumped Caedometric Weapon (which I believe was pointed at the Traveler, not the Darkness) and Rasputin was the one that initiated it. I think it is all connected, and has been playing out since the Golden Age, for based on FWC's Golden Age device, we knew that the fall of humanity was inevitable, but using Vex/Traveler tech, we found a way

(Sorry for late reply) Your connection makes a lot of sense! Osiris wasn't resurrected by the traveler. He was an experiment during the Golden Age. Rasputin's ISIS program must have turned Osiris into a guardian so he can stop FWC's visions of a vex-dominated future.

Good theory Not much I can say about it, though, because we just dont know enough
Another interesting bit: Horus, his 4 sons, and 2 other deities were known as the SEVEN Shining Ones who protected Osiris's body.
Have you read Ghost Fragment: Ghosts? I believe that is the one that talks about seven suns in a grand room with souls that wonder. Sounds a lot like the Egyptian afterlife if you use your line of thinking.

This is OncomingStormDR's playstation account. Well, Vault of Glass seems to parallel very strongly to Greek Mythology. It seems to make sense that in some form, Osiris and his dealings will parallel with Egyptian Mythology. I'm not sure what those parallels are, but they will probably become more apparent. The bird on the chest at the lighthouse looks like a falcon, which is also what Horus is represented as. Now that I think about it, "the shining ones" could be the followers of Osiris, which would explain why the falcon is on the chest. That would mean the Sol Progeny would have something to do with the disciples. That's where my trail stops, though.

Edited by ccmachine: 8/9/2015 6:09:56 AMI think the black heart was Osiris, and we killed him for the speaker. It fits in with the sol progeny being related to Horus and Osiris' followers.

The only problem with that is, Luke Smith confirmed that Osiris is still alive.
