This is largely in response to the comment where you said new white and green equipment will be stronger than existing legendary gear once Taken King is released. What I dislike is how it seems like to me it doesn't matter what grind you've put in so far because it will all be pointless in a month. Borderlands could get away with this style of levelling because even though I knew that when I hit True and Ultimate difficulty I would need to regrind but I could regrind and acquire all the legendary (exotics) and certain purples (legendaries) and even blue rare weapons/armor that I'd found extremely useful during the campaign (looking at you Miss Moxxi's Good Touch/Bad Touch combo which I regularly threw money at the screen for) and to my knowledge there's no plans in place for Destiny to do that. What if I get 10-20 hours into the Taken King and realize "Damn these guns are cool but I really miss my old Vision or Fatebringer they always got the job done" and wanted to replay Vault of Glass and grind for one with the new stats. Well oops I'm sol because you can't do that. I hope I'm wrong or reading things incorrectly but I really want ways to regrind or farm current arms and armor because I dislike the feeling that all the hours I put into a game were wasted because the gear I acquired is useless.

  • Well heres what I want to know. Since all gear is now going to be based off of your Light Level. Everyone is starting at 34. Now if i get a green Armor or weapon wouldn't that be as powerful as a Legendary also? The only difference would be the perks....?

  • I have a thread with 600+ replies, most of them calling Me a fag and good riddence for being fed up over that exact sentiment. I feel like, why the fuçk did i put a 1000h into this gam over the last year when in 2 weeks everything is going to be worthless. Borderlands did the loot right in that respect. Give me a lvl 41 poe/vog/crota and let me grind out current versions of those weapons if i want Or let us ascend 1per character or something Don't make me feel like I wasted my time on a game that touted itself as bring your shit with you for 10y but ended up being, oh you played for a 1000h? Yeah, we're just going to erase that and you can start over. Super lame/bad feeling over that

  • I understand where you are coming from but the biggest complaint and problem with HoW is that there was really no reason to play for those who could ascend raid gear and guns. How is Bungie supposed to motivate people to play if all we do is upgrade our Fatebringers for ten years? New gear is more exciting and enticing. Yes it took a lot to level up our gear, but for good purposes like holding our own in Prison runs of Raid runs. And those runs can reward you with some of the best loot in the game, except the Prison does not. Player incentivization breaks down if year one guns can be grandfathered indefinitely. This is a standard practice for MMOs when they deliver expansions because they know that most people want new stuff. It also makes good thematic sense given that our guardians will be stronger and fighting stronger enemies. We need new gear for that trajectory to have legs.
