Gear being left behind is a staple feature of rpg games.
This an rpg game.
Get with it.

This isn't a rpg, derp. This is a first person shooter with skill trees. No matter how much mmo and rpg terminology they use, it's neither.
-
It was marketed as one. It should be one, and it looks like they're moving towards that.
-
No dude, it was marketed as a first person shooter with a "deep cinematic narrative." Never once was rpg or mmo mentioned.

Destiny is a 2014 first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It was released on September 9, 2014, for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles. Destiny marked Bungie's first new franchise since the Halo series, and the developers have a ten year plan for the franchise. Set in a "mythic science fiction" world, the game features a massively-multiplayer "shared-world" environment with elements of role-playing games.
-
The only rpg elements in this game are skill trees and terminology. That hardly qualifies it as rpg-esque let alone a rpg proper.
-
Any game that's remotely immersive into a character, be it a character whose overall personality is fabricated by you, or a character who is wholly defined by the game, is still an rpg. Cod's story is an fps rpg, Deus Ex was an fps rpg. Destiny needs more rpg, and more MMO. Otherwise it's just cod/halo variant.
-
That's all it is anyway, a halo reskin with double jumps, supers and skill trees.
-
It doesn't have to be though. Besides, when it happens in an rpg you get something unequivocally better. If they want to release a new fatebringer be my guest.

Edited by DaywalkerDoctor: 8/7/2015 8:45:21 PMMy thought process was that VOG guns and armor are stuck at 300/30 light, with the idea that extra difficulties be added to VOG to have the gear drop at higher levels, ie: 331-365-???... And same for Crota, and POE, would add a lot of replayability, and yeah would add quite a bit of grinding, but without some grinding the most games of this type would be over so much faster. EDIT: didn't realize this wasn't a reply to my post, but to my comment on another post. Sorry! If you want context I'll put in a link to it. I highly doubt they'll be doing that.

Man, shut the fukk up! Our weapons should be our choice, you dumb ass!
-
Not all, some used weapons that scaled up or down depending on the mission level and max/min level of party members.
Gear being left behind is a staple feature of rpg games. This an rpg game. Get with it.
This is true. But bungie has said this before then did the opposite. I'm not deleting anything till I have to lol.

I'm totally against not being able to keep the gear, will always be for bigger vaults.
