You're making assumptions about starting at lvl 20, just like I'm assuming we'll start at our current lvl. Yes, light levels will be removed. No, they have not clarified if we'll start at lvl 20 or current lvl.

But what happens if the day before the dlc releases I'm wearing lower level gear, and that character is level 30 the day before release? Will be level 30 or level 34? Also my assumption (which I'm entitled to) is that they are removing light levels. If you had your light level removed, what level would you be? I'm not saying your wrong, I just like everyone else, are running off assumptions, the only difference is the current language of explanation shows we will dropping down to 20. Which would be annoying. Would be quite fun at the same time I think. It would just be annoying though, current HoW story missions are 26. Which means if we dropped to level 20. We probably wouldn't be able to do the new story missions without levelling up a bit first. And using common sense bungie wouldn't want that, as they would want us to jump into the expansion straight away, so common sense would lead us to believe that we will start at level 34. What I'm trying to say is. Who knows? It's all a gamble right now. Either way I'm excited.

It just doesn't make sense to take away the things that we've already been able to do. Why wouldn't we be able to do the things we've already done hundreds of times? Sounds silly for us to start back at 20 instead of the lvls we worked so hard to get to. Is it that far of a stretch for Bungie to keep track of the maximum light lvls you've reached with each character so you can start there? Not really

You're absolutely right. And while I am extremely excited for this dlc, and I absolutely love this game. Every time I think to myself "it would make sense for bungie to do XYZ" they tend to fall flat on their arse and do the opposite lol.
