Thoughts on losing light levels and going to 20?
I know some of you arent smart enough to have spotted this implication, but basically, light levels are being done away with, and normal leveling will resume, this means, you will lose that 34, and start again at twenty when the new dlc releases.
So whats your reaction to that, and the fact all that hard work for gear to level up islost?
Im suspecting that is your face above considering you just figured it out.

You'll be able to grind back up to 40 in but a few days or so. That said, Bungie's supposedly going to have a one-time XP boost to get you straight to the minimum level required for TTKing's content. No need to go grinding XP out the gate.

So maybe I'm "not smart enough" to realize that continuing to do new missions with old gear gets really old really quick - and the lack of variety in this game is one of its biggest issues. So rather than let the few tumors like you ruin the fun for everyone else I'll actually be excited. Though, I'm pretty sure the exotics will be upgradable - I haven't heard but I'd be a little surprised if they weren't.

2 RepliesNo, you start at 34 and go from there if you are 34. That's why there's an instant xp for 1 character to get to the minimum level required. It's so new players don't have to grind that shit out and be at disadvantage being so far behind the vets

Levelling through XP is fine by me, and to be honest I couldn't give two shits about my legendaries staying as they are. The new gear and guns look epic, why would I want to continue using the same gun for 2 years!? Can't wait for TTK, can't come quick enough for me!

Was talking to my buddy the other day about this. I told him we will all be bounced down to 20. He wasn't so sure. I told him that if the light all disappears from our armor, how can we be any higher. Prepare for the grind from 20 to 40. Should take about a year. Btw - we also discussed that those who buy the CE version and get the exotic class items that boost xp will have an advantage. Guess we all better throw money at the screen.

Not smart enough or accepting of the change? Leaving leveling to RNG (pre-House of Wolves) was a bad idea.

3 RepliesI will wait for Bungie to clarify it first but to have 3 level 34 characters go back to level 20 would be extremely frustrating. Makes grinding raids, PoE seem like a real waste of my time. Seems also a bit disrespectful of the effort many of us made to max out gear. I don't care so much about moving on from weapons but I liked acending my gear. I remember when TDB and everyone wearing the same gear. I have my doubts that Bungie would make the same mistakes by making our previous efforts invalid. Have to wait and see I guess. Hope they clear it up in the weekly update.

Those pics r just on a beta/alpha build m8. If u look it up, we're gonna get to be able to reach light level 50. That's also the reason why year 1 gear will be obsolete since ascending will be put away in TTK.

Who really knows if we are going to go back to 20 if we do it may be the first door to open up to a big amount of gear and from there we get better gear

More reasons to play new content. They said they will smooth the transicion so maybe we 34 or any lvl gets a heads up in the lvling. The forums are just blowing up per usual to any changes, not worrying at all.

I'm glad they're going back with the tried and true system of XP leveling, and leaving behind that flop of a progression system that they've come up with.
