Thank you for typing this up. My fiance is in the dames, while obviously not part of the stream or chat she and I were a bit shocked when we learned of the events that led to the stream being shut down. It is truly disgusting what happened during that time. There seems to be misinterpretation of byf's comment, notably where he quotes the "suck my ball" part. People seem to believe that the comment was directed at solely at deej. However this isn't the case, the person who made the comment refers to it as his thought about the bounty. Indicating he had some sort of issue with the dames and not solely deej.

Why is it disgusting that one person hates a certain group of people? Because your fiancée is apart of that group?

Not because she is apart of that specific group. But because of the fact we are all human beings and deserve to be treated as such. Each person on this earth deserves to be treated with a certain amount respect, kindness and hospitality. The guys remarks were unkind and rather vulgar.

Do you think that the Dames excluding Men of their clan is a symbol of respect, kindness and hospitality? To me it seems like gender based bias....

What you fail to know, is that dames isn't exactly exclusive to females. My fiance and I have played with men (yes males of the human race) that are members of dames. While their inclusion might be on some sort of special basis (family members and such) this renders your question invalid. But I'll answer the best I can. And the answer is yes I believe that while being a group of primary female gamers their group conducts their selves in a tasteful manner and my exclusion from the group is done in a respectful manner. They don't condem me for being a male they just choose to play with members of their own gender. I find nothing wrong with that. After all it would make me a hypocrite considering I'm a member of DOD. pretty much the polar opposite of dames. Do you find anything wrong with an all male group of father's?

For what I know, if I am wrong my point is invalid, the DOD openly don't have bias against gender, however the Dames do ( even if unofficially there are means around the rule ). I think I do remember when they got a "community spotlight" a requirement was to be able to prove your female-ness. So: DOD officially accept every gender. Dames officially don't accept every gender. This makes the Dames officially biased. If they don't follow their rule is their problem. My problem is that Bungie has supported a clan that is gender biased and assumes evil in gender. Which are some stupid ways to think. I also think that excluding girls from the evil "male-ness" also helps extend their by now internalized fear or men.

Because someone thought it appropriate to send a picture of a penis to BelleBunny's Twitter, at random. Because they think its OK to belittle women and tell them they shouldn't be playing video games or cant play them well, that its a mans hobby. Its disgusting that some seem to think its OK to be Sexist this way and to harass women and discourage women and young girls from playing games as a hobby. Its not OK to view a woman as a breathing sex toy, or a lightening pole for abuse like this. And that is why it is disgusting.

The acts you referred do strike me as disgusting. However, they have nothing to do with my question, which was about wishyouluck's comment "suck my balls" and why the dames need special treatment ( receiving an apology from the community) for such a usual comment

The comment was directed at the bounty, which was take on the dames of Destiny, his words were: "I have one word to say about this boutny: Suck my Balls DEEJ!" And then screamed Savage Lord and so on, you can find a video on youtube of it. So he got not only DEEJ, but Dames as well for being the focus of a boutny. During this, dames were receiving whispers, tweets, and comments about being r.a.p.e.d., sucking because they were women, and that they shouldn't be allowed to play at all. The apologies that the dames are receiving are t just for the "suck my Balls" comments, but for the other comments they received as well. Had it just been a "suck my balls" comment, BelleBunny probably could have given him a choice response. But they were being flodded with sexual harassment due to their spotlight time from Bungie and DEEJ.

This problem is not Men vs Women.... It's Harassers vs People with functioning brains It just so happens that women are a minority. It just so happens that they are super sensitive about gender insults (if they weren't, none of this would be a problem) Everyone gets harassed. They aren't harassed because they are female. However: because they are so sensitive and the harasser knows it, the harasser will use his best attacks against female gamers ( like me and you use Thorn/TLW in trials) which are gender related insults. It's like this, Defender Titans are more vulnerable to melee fights than the regular guardian. If it is to be fought by a smart guardian, this guardian will try to make the Defender fight in his week ground, thus starting a melee fight. Now you can say that Defender Titans are a minority and are being attacked be long range melee using Warlocks and the Blink Striking Bladedabcers. But they didn't attack the Defender Titan for being a Defender Titan, they attacked like they attack anyone else. They used their best attacks against the Defender Titan.

Perhaps because they excluded men from their clan, thus some men decided to exclude then back? However, what I just said is irrelevant, my point is wishyouluck's hating the Dames isn't so inhumane. Is it bad that these things happen to your clan? Yes. However, if you are going to have a only female clan, that has got to attract the worst parts of the community. Does the community have to apologize? No. The huge major part of the community wasn't apart of it.

I've got nothing against that wish you luck guy, that's not what has the dames in an uproar (though, have you hear anything as rude in previous streams?) And dames is the main group for only women, but they encourage men and women to join their other group. (Forgive me I don't know it's name, didn't bother to ask and its early for me, can't remember if they told me when I joined) but if you contact dames and ask them "I am a male and want to join" they will direct you to the other clan

This conversation has took a weird path, mainly because I was misinformed and didn't know about the more serious things that happened. However, I do have a problem with the Dames clan ideology, because they wrongly assume that the problem is men. And this line of thought is not new and in recent years, that type of sexist thought has been applied in other more important issues. So to conclude this. Yes, -blam!- threats are terrible. The community has nothing to apologize for, as we are not sure if the harassers were even apart of the community. And your clan has some stupid ways of thinking. I have nothing against the members of the Dames. It is sad that they feel the need to be in such a sexist clan. I have a lot against the founders of the clan, and wish they had took the work to exclude harassers, and simply have a tough policy on attitude, instead of assuming wrong in gender/taking the easy way and exclude tons of people who wouldn't be a problem to your safe envoirment.
