They shouldn't have an all female clan. That's sexism right there. But more importantly people shouldn't be treating them poorly and making rude comments because of it. That's wrong. A bit of harmless banter is fine, but from what I hear this was far worse than that.

So by your assumption, any group of all females engaged in a recreation is sexist. So "girls night out", an all girl soccer team, all that's out the window because "inclusion"? I'm not some white knight, pro-feminist rug muncher here...just a dude dropping some logic on you. Sometimes you wanna group up and doing something with people like you without having to deal with someone else's shit. If you aren't aware of the hard time that girl gamers get by now, you must be out of your mind. The online space is full of socially inept who get to spew their hatred under the veil of anonymity, and groups like the Dames are [i]necessary.[/i] That whole stream proved it without a shadow of a doubt. To the point of "they can play with me and my male/female friends"...how? How would one know you? How would one know where to find you? Do you post to LFG sites? Even still, LFG for a girl gamer isn't something that's very inviting, because for as many of those like you who may be inclusive, you have assholes. People are picky because of players who don't have a Gjallarhorn, and you think that it's that much easy for a girl to find a PUG or group to play with that's [i]not[/i] judgmental of her gender? Quit being daft.

As far as physical sports there are reasons why there is female only teams and make only teams. But in things where there is no physical advantage or disadvantage there should be no need for a gender specific clan. My fiance uses lfg often. It's never been bad before. (She plays every day) Like I've said before If something you don't like happens there is a block kick and mute button. I think If they were willing to put in the effort and get rid of the bad people ASAP they would find good people to play with. I know me and my fiance have. We know none of them in real life.

No. Sexism and racism enforce a heirarchy, female-only groups are formed to give members a chance to socialize without encountering sexist behavior in the group. There's no sentiment that you aren't good enough for membership, the existence of a female-only clan doesn't make it any harder for you to find your own clan. I recognize that you are just stuck on some kind of edgy, oppositional kick, but maybe you'll grow out of it someday. Women don't hate you.

I disagree. They could play with me and my male and female friends none of us are sexist. So if you look for people who aren't you will find some.

I'm sure your group are great, but that's not how the game works. It's very difficult to find a group of players if you don't know people in real life. You hop onto LFG and a woman joins then a lot of people would comment on her gender. A women's only clan is an unfortunate necessity when there's no easy way of filtering through the assholes.

I still disagree. They need to put in the extra effort to find those good people because those people are the ones you can truly have fun with. Also. When I'm using lfg I always get my fiancé to post because people always respond quicker to a female gamer tag so technically we use it to our advantage. If there is ever sexism or something that you don't like you can press boot, block, or mute. If it's super bad it is a video game in the end. You can shut it off. I hope it doesn't need to come to that for anyone though.

Fair enough, but I imagine they've made quite a lot of friends in that clan given that they've all had similar experiences with the game. There are people that have never run a raid because of the lack of matchmaking. The extra effort to find a group is not easy. That clan will not be needed one day, but at the moment I think it's good to have a group that they know they can avoid harassment in.

Avoiding harassment is good but they are closing off a large part of good people. Not all males are pervy sexist jerks. A fair few are but there are good ones too.

I agree, you seem nice and there are quite a few nice people I've met on this game, but the clan initially being exclusionary is necessary and then guys should be able to be vouched for. It's a sucky situation, but one that there really isn't any alternative until society moves on and a sexist in a game is a very rare thing.

I just wish they wouldn't try to be exclusive to females. Because the decent males are missing out as well as the females who need to be exclusive are missing out on a chance to game with decent males. And sexism isn't ever going to change if they keep their female exclusivity.
