This is the reason why an all girl's clan actually exists. I would love to join Dames of Destiny, simply because guys i play with will either ignore my directions because i am a girl or they will try to shut me down at every level. Have you ever spoken in a room full of people and have them all ignore you and purposely restate the same questions but direct it at a male gamer? Yeah, there needs to be an all girl's crew

 • Couldn't they use that exclusivity to overcome that discrimination? Couldn't they accept reasonable males as an example, to prove that playing with men is no different than playing with women? I find that they seem to view the male gaming community as toxic rather hypocritical.

 • It wouldn't be dames of destiny if males were accepted. The amount of guys in this game far outnumber women, which means that if a clan accepts men...then they will have to accept every man that fits the "reasonable" title...which will eventually lead to an overwhelming population of men. Honestly, I don't mind playing with all guys, but for once I would like to chat about girl stuff...romance films, favorite ice cream flavors...instead of talking about how "hot" a girl is...or burping...or just whatever.

 •
...instead of talking about how "hot" a girl is...or burping...or just whatever.
First of all, that's pretty sexist coming from some one who is victimized by sexism. Dads of Destiny are doing quite well at maintaining their integrity while accepting female gamers. What I mean is that just because the Dames may allow men doesnt mean they have to allow everyone, they have control over who can stay, that is the beauty of a clan. I feel the Dames refusing to accept men is absolutely a pejudice and a discrimination, and is an oversight of an opportunity to better their community, and the community as a whole.

 • Sorry if you feel offended, but that is just your perspective. I pvp with a lot of men and this is something i hear all the time. Sorry but you are not a victim in a man's world. You feeling they are prejudiced just means you don't get it.

 •
Sorry if you feel offended, but that is just your perspective... You feeling they are prejudiced just means you don't get it.
I'm sorry, but I obviously have invested my conversation in the wrong person. I strive to live in a world where sex or race or origin are not even mentioned, that where we are all humans striving for the same cause. If i can't even have this in a mostly anonymous, fantasy game where obviously everyone has similar goals, I certainly fail to see how the Dames are futhring our progress. It's a shame. Good luck to you, and i hope you find some better friends to play with, and maybe open up a little about your passive agressive sexism.

 •
I strive to live in a world where sex or race or origin are not even mentioned...
As a fellow male, it is our privilege (yes, I said it) to live in this fantasy world. Sexism and racism will not go away by pretending that these issues don't exist. If female gamers want a safe space to play with other females, I say let them. You're not the victim here.

 • I realize im not a victim, personally. All I'm saying is that they're overlooking a good opportunity to better the community.

 • But the burden of improving the community doesn't rest on the marginalized group. Female gamers aren't the problem. Men are. If you truly want to improve the community, first, listen to what the female gamers are saying. Don't take it as an insult or a personal attack. Learn from their experiences. Try to empathize. Reflect on your own behavior and whether or not you have, inadvertently or not, contributed to making an unwelcoming environment. Commit to improving your own behavior and confront negative behavior when appropriate.

 • The burden of the betterment of the community falls on us all. You, me, and the Dames. I do my part. The dames are propogating ignorance and unacceptance. Which is part of the problem. I have no qualms with the way i treat people, but i find that just about any opinion can be "justified", so take that for what you will. This is my opinion.

 • Thanks for this, I don't feel like i need to respond to his posts any more because you've said it well. People think they are making things better by ignoring the problem. Life will teach them a few things *sigh*

 • I kinda feel as a guy, with a kid and a long time gf. That I talk about more romance stuff and relationship stuff then most women do...tht was definitely sexist.
