Europa RP

Deep in the galaxy, there is a system by the name of Europa. A band of soldiers, mercenaries, and grizzled veterans drift through space going from mission to mission, aiming to rid the world of evil and get rich in the process. They are called Fireteam Cyprus, and ride through space on the Cyprus Cruiser. History: The group had a rough time on Mars, fighting against armies, hostile wildlife, and inhuman beings. Not to mention the high tension and near all out war between certain members of the team. The crisis was averted by peaceful words and logical actions, these ideas would usually be Murph's job to bring about, but he was alone on a planet called Zorada. He wandered, wondering if anyone would ever come for him, or if they wanted to, or if he even wanted them to, after his hostile actions, and the murder of a man named Felix. The crew (or most of them) however, shook it off, knowing he was not in his right mind when he did these things. They came after him, and we're now scouring the planet for him. Following different trails of evidence led the group to a large sinkhole, protected by a barrier. They were able to lift it by passing Trials, which they later learned were just tests made up by Providence to be sure they were prepared. They were moments away from getting through the barrier, yet they had no idea what they were stepping into... After what seemed like forever, the group found Murph, only for him to be torn from them again, for the world had to be saved. Murph did not survive, and is now recorded as KIA. The group moves on to what they hope are greener pastures. However, turns out they end up working for an old foe, Del Fino. Phantom is captured, and Minerva and Python are stranded on a nearby planet. With the Genesis out of play, Del Fino musters the strength to attack the Axion Cruiser. While they are recovering, Scout, an old friend now on the side of Del Fino, is found lurking the ship. She is captured and interrogated, and the team now prepares a full scale attack to finish Del Fino once and for all, and rescue Phantom in the process. The rescue did not go as planned, losing many members, including Python and Phantom, leaving Minerva as the last surviving Genesis. Feeling alone, she soon fled from the team, and was not found for long after. Her fleeing caused strife within the Axion mercenaries, along with the loss of their role models and leaders, and eventually led to it being disbanded. ------------------------------------------ 10 Years Later... After the loss of the Genesis, (Minerva missing and the others presumed dead) the Axion crew fell apart. However, a new team began to form, gathered by the same allure of treasure and adventure that once gripped the members of Exalin and Axion. Once the team had gathered on the Cyprus cruiser, they located a base used by the Exalin team long ago. They found clues pointing to the existence of Genesis, but we're soon distracted by a mission requiring them to investigate a destroyed city. They found the creature that did it, and eliminated it. Or so they thought... Stuff happened that OP has no idea about because he was afk. Feel free to PM a short summary of this section of the story if you have time. Bored, most of the team look into jobs at the bounty board. One job sparks an interest in something bigger... Joshua and Vilnaks return with a hostage, reporting that a group of mercs was sent to retrieve information and possibly eliminate Cyprus. Out of leads, they continue to work on the case of the biggest assassination of the decade. They discover many pieces of evidence pointing to Genesis. But not just one, all of them. The group is stumped. Before they can think of a new plan, a large missile tears the Cyprus out of the sky. The ship's pieces land scattered, separating the crew into smaller groups. They are forced to fight harsh conditions, scavenge for food, and even build their own shelter in some cases. They wonder who's doing the ship's destruction was, and why the planet was deserted. Soon they found themselves fighting antimatter copies of the Genesis, and Minerva. After a long and hard battle, Minerva is struck down after activating all limiters at once. She is left to bleed out as the crew leaves, finding a new cruiser and claiming their reward after confirming Minerva was the assassin. After drifting for what seemed like no longer than a few hours, but was in reality probably a few days, the crew gets reports of massive rocks called "Leviathans" crashing into planets, destroying most of them with the initial impact, then spreading a blue crystal that gives off an extremely powerful radiation called Phazon. The remaining people on these planets began to rise and mutate beyond recognition. Reports also came in saying Minerva was spotted attacking multiple GF bases. Perhaps the Phazon had gripped her. Seeing that stakes were higher than ever before, Cyprus convinces the GF to release Phantom temporarily, and he is convinced to create an entire second wave of Genesis supersoldiers. Even with their new upgrades, Cyprus still struggled to face the beasts they encountered, the Broodmothers, the Beserkers, each nigh impossible to kill and creating more with every victory. The crew is lucky to find someone immune to the virus, the name for the immunity and manipulation of Phazon later coined as Phazite. Her name was Tanya. Python spent too much time near her, exposing himself to the infection, and killing three: the Spartan Jackie, a high ranking officer of the ship, and his own wife, A'Karo. He fled soon after, with his wife's body. I went super duper afk and missed like 3 arcs. The group wanders, somewhat wondering what it would be like to have a real home again, like the empire, and not just some ship that'll crash next time they get near a big bad guy. They finally think of an idea that was hiding in plain sight, the Old Empire itself. Despite its destruction and abandonment, the team sets a course, determined to retake their home. Once there, they are ambushed by a massive Dread force, and sacrifice themselves to eliminate the Dread once and for all. The Federation and Rebels have a war. The Federation wins(?). A new team, The Infinite Pioneers, are assembled at Crux. They soon become the first humans to leave the Milky Way, exploring a brand new galaxy where mankind had never been before. They are attacked by some pirates after trespassing into their space, and some are taken to fight in an arena. Those taken manage to escape back to the Infinity. Bounty Board
The bounty board contains missions and jobs. Three are added each time it updates. These jobs can be tackled together or alone, unless specified by the bounty. Bounties can be done at any time, despite the crew's situation, as bounties are placed in a time where the crew isn't busy. Bounties will have little to no effect on the main story (other than the money) unless marked as important. Manually Input Bounties: "Get the Bounty Board working." Reward: "Bounties." Placed By: Calleach Details: Three small metal beams sit beside the board, used for linking a location to the board. When placed, they will self-construct a beacon for bounty placement. There are three nearby planets with intelligent life within range of gunship flight. The first, a volcanic planet with large rock creatures who, while being durable and able to survive in the hot conditions, are definitely a stretch on the word "intelligent". The second, the planet from before, with the ability to reconstitute metals. They seem both smart and friendly, and much could be to gain by linking them into the board. -TAKEN BY AVELINE The third, a very earth-like planet with somewhat human-like entities, much taller, and much more primitive. They fight amongst themselves a lot, and there seem to be many tribes. Finding safe, neutral ground to place the beacon would be extremely beneficial, but may be challenging as well. ERROR. • Aboard the SSN red October Major volkov and his men celebrated their victory and his promotion. He drank his shot of vodka and caught the major's rank with his teeth. He gently laid it on his dress uniform epaulettes. Had he let either fall he would have had to start over. They celebrated with more alcohol. The next day the major was nursing his hangover. The seventh fleet had standing orders to patrol the sector, one of the many people they were looking for was a quarian. He felt bad, this was clearly someone high up misusing power to settle some imagined slight. Had the man been here the major would have set him straight. The men of Volga tended to get away with such, as their loyalty and pride defined the fed. He debated letting the poor woman be, but she was likely the only person who could testify against said higher up. So in a way he would be following orders, but the outcome would be slightly different, the cell would be for a man not a woman.
open
Golden Burner In the middle of a small Federation world, a small wormhole starts to open. Out of it comes a man clad in golden armor, his eyes looking for around his surroundings. Upon scanning the area, he starts to make his way towards a nearby village, his arm aflame "Now, Entropy, I shall find him. And I will not let anyone or anything stand in my way."-Man A few minutes later, the Federation receives a distress signal from the village. However, when people are sent there to investigate, they find that everyone there is dead, with blood and ash everywhere. On the town hall are words burned into the wall. They say; CHAOS ABOVE ALL.
Closed. Just adding an enemy both Alliance and Federation will face in the coming days. Hope that is okay.
• The battle for argus three The seventh army group, pride of the Volga sector had been deployed on peacekeeping detail. That's when the damn Rebels turned the peaceful population into a army. That's when the men of the Volga sector showed the Rebels who the better fighters were. As fierce and devoted as they were, the rebels had no heavy armor or air support. The fighting was brutal, hand to hand in some cases, the local loyalist militias had the worst of the fed causalities. Armed with last gen assault rifles and armor they were on even footing with the rebels. There were just more rebels than loyalists. The fighting had destroyed the major cities by the third week. By the third month any civvies had been evacuated or were dead. Despite all their bluster and talk about saving the people, the Feds were the only ones to attempt an evac, which was targeted by the rebels. The following is from the journal of Pavel volkov, captain of bravo company 3rd battalion, 9th Guards rifles division. I used to think this backwater world was peaceful, that the people here enjoyed the protections of the fed. Now, I know different. We are currently camped out inside the remains of a children's hospital, one that was thankfully evacuated early on, yet I cannot shake the feeling this place gives me. I stepped on a child's bear, it was worn and dusty from the fighting but it reminds me that this used to be a place for innocent children to get better. Now it's a fortified military position. We lost ten men storming this place, took down thirty. Two prisoners, one a young man, barely old enough to hold the rifle we took from his shaking hands, the other a woman, thirtyish, still thinks we're going to -blam!- her. That has only happened once under my command and the man who did it payed very dearly for that. At any rate the two are being held by Ivanov in the server room. I will write more later. Volkov placed his journal back where he kept it stashed and picked up his rifle. His helmet's HUD illuminated the darkened hospital, allowing him to see. His men were busy fortifying what was left of this accused place, the armor had been called away to help in another fight, so they were on their own. Penal troops were enroute to relieve his men so that the much more experienced and valuable guards troops could get rest and relaxation. For now he would hold on. He got out his tac pad and went through his mail, something to do at any rate. In another fifteen minutes his shift would begin again and the current group of soldiers would rest like his shift was.
open I guess
• No Days Off Outer Rim Rebellion base Backbreaker-Exact Planet is unknown "Here. Here is where it began." Your vision is black, covered by a black bandana. There's movement all around you, scary, yet you knew what was happening. That voice...it was deep, but not too deep, serious but joking, sad yet hopeful. A man's voice, he obviously had experience. "This is where you will throw away your citizenship, your freedom, all to get it back." The ship you were on had cold, hard seats, but it was moving and not being shot down....always a plus. There's murmuring around, next to you. Talk of who's speaking spread throughout your transport. Whispers say names like General Armharst and Commander Hiss, both legendary names in the Rebellion. The ORR. People said joining was a suicide wish. A death sentence. They were somewhat right. The sergeants were cruel, the Feds were well armed. It would not be an easy win. If they won. "This is ORR Training base Backbreaker, your home for the next three months." The ship stops moving, loud talking outside. The ship suddenly began to heat up like pure fire. It was warm, dry and windy. Possibly a desert planet. Whoever was speaking stepped off their podium and walked around the ship as he spoke, your eyes still covered. "Today, you will be listed into the archives, where I once was, where Hiss once was, Hell, even Armharst. They all started here." He stopped in front of you, setting a hand on your head. His hand was massive, but covered in a cloth that covered his palm, most likely wrapping his hand. "Right now, you are all blind, weak and worthless to me. This will change. You will become soldiers. Damn fine ones at that. If you get shot, shoot them a hundred times over. If you are killed, your brothers and sisters in arms will drown your killer in lead and plasma so that he may never see light again." The hand shifted, gripping the blindfold. "But enough about what you will do. Do it." He grabs the blindfold, ripping it off your head. You see a man towering over you. There was a sniper on his back. Details were fuzzy, as your eyes were still adjusting to the light. It was bright, blinding almost. The cargo door for the transport had been dropped, revealing sandy dunes and warm weather outside. Others around you have the blindfolds removed, looking around and shaking their heads to get their senses back. The gasp in awe at the man that spoke. He stood over you, looking down. "Look at me, recruit." You follow the order with utter compliance, looking up at him. He had a skeleton mask over the back of his head, giving instant recognition as the leader of the ORR. Spectre. The legend. The myth. In the flesh. "You'll make a fine soldier." He turned away and started walking down the aisles of the transport. "As will you, and you. All of you will." Cuffs holding you to your seat are released from your shins and wrists. "Be fast to your gun, soldiers. It is your best friend, and it will always be there." He walked passed you, getting out into the open of the base. Spectre raised his arms. "Welcome to Backbreaker. Stay cool, recruits, it gets rather...heated here." He smiles as you and your team of about thirty recruits walk out of the transport. It takes off, leaving you on this desert planet, alone, yet surrounded. .......................................................................... It was dark outside, cold too. The sweat only made it worse. You had been archived, moved in and eaten. Thinking about how bad it will be tomorrow, when you workout for the first time, you step outside, the tan camouflage sweatshirt and painted jeans attempting to keep you warm. You see Spectre looking out over a dune, a bottle in his hand. He had no weapons on him, that you saw. You step up next to him and he speaks. "Ya know, I hate guns. Hate fighting too. But it's my job." He smiles as he stares out at the dunes, taking a swig from the whiskey bottle every once in a while. He had a short, 6 o'clock shave, bloodshot eyes and dark hair. His mask was still covering his head, pointless looking but it could keep heat in. "Soldier, I want you to know, I personally removed your blindfold for a reason. You're special. I saw your training scores and I'm impressed. However, you haven't shot at a target yet. That will change. Tomorrow." He stood there, still staring at the dunes, holding a half empty bottle of whiskey at his side.
Open, this is the Rebellion, if you're looking to join the Feds, talk to Ginger (FN 2187). The Alliance is SilverPulse620. If you're new to the thread, come here. This is the simplest of the factions in this civil war. Have fun!
• Bectera: In the aftermath of the battle, Bectera's orbit is scattered with debris from Federation ships, and the ground is littered with blood and bodies, and the screams of the dying. Though the Rebellion suffered far more catastrophic losses than the Federation, they were spared from absolute defeat by the timely arrival of the Alliance fleet (swear to god, last time I'm jacking the Alliance). An uneasy truce between the Rebels as Alliance has been called on the surface, and the two factions have agreed to meet at a location. As the leaders confer with each other, the soldiers fighting on the ground have been cleared to intermingle and meet. (Lazy post for meeting up. If you fought in the battle (or not), this is where you go to interact with each other. If you're with the Federation, I'll make a post tomorrow for you)

              • Legacy Galactic Federation Space; Point of No Return As Phaedrus strode through the stark metal corridors of the de facto Federation HQ, he couldn't help but appreciate the echo his boots made upon the steel. He knew what kind of person... No, being, he had to be to impose order upon those beneath him, to inspire them. They could know nothing of him, besides that he fought for the Federation. From darkness and chaos, they had brought peace and justice. Without them, the Galaxy would still be plagued by the Ignus, the R'Tok, or the Dread. Without them, there would be naught but a void. And yet, these rebels in the Outer Rim had the audacity to stand against this? It almost made him laugh... Almost. The Control Room was a room that didn't exist, in a ship that was never built, in a system that was destroyed eons ago. What Phaedrus saw behind his polarized visor was something very, very few people would ever see. A raised stairway connected the ground to a circular platform in the shape of a halo, surrounding a massive spherical hologram of an Outer Rim planet. In the atmosphere, GF ships circled Insurrectionist forces like birds of prey, and a few markers detailed points of interest. He walked up the stairs, and took a seat at the far left before the conference began. A middle-aged man spoke, in a powerful voice that spread across the room easily. "This was [edit] at 0400 today, being sieged by Battle Group 1. Our Vigilance cruisers had key Insurrectionist forces pinned down, and battle predictions placed our chances 94.72%, with room for extraneous phenomenon." Suddenly, the hologram changed. Insurrectionist territory, outlined in yellow, had expanded rapidly, and the Vigilance fleet lied in ruins. Strange warships were sighted in orbit, though their models were incomplete and rugged. "This, is [edit] at 1700. Ships of unknown origin jumped out of warp with startling accuracy, and outfought our cruisers in a bitter skirmish. We have no schematics or potential capabilities other than those you are currently observing, but we believe that they outnumbered us." The hologram zoomed in once more, showing quick holo-vids taken on the ground. Strange figures were seen rallying the rebels on the ground, all wearing very different, assorted attire. Instantly, Phaedrus thought back to the legends of Exalin and Cyprus, though his smirk was hidden by his imposing mask. "These figures were seen on the ground, beginning at 0600. Their arrival was accompanied by the arrival of these mystery ships, though their gear is native to Federation space, so we do not know of any correlations. Phaedrus, you will be leading a strike team to investigate this anomaly, and to eliminate any HVTs on the ground. We'll be sending reinforcements upon your arrival. Further details await you in the Barracks. Until then, we must remain vigilant against these terrorists. Dismissed." As Phaedrus rose from his seat, his hand slipped towards the durasteel hilt on one of his bandoleers. Hallwinter's blade was still warm, and hungry for conquest. (Closed.)

                      • Switching Sides...For The Better Spectre started running to the new vantage point when he saw a man already there. Not taking any chances, he aims and fires at the man, throwing him about ten feet from the round in his chest. He takes the man's spot and lays down, draping his camouflage over him. He started aiming at the massive group of soldiers from behind the town hall. Three hundred strong, the soldiers pushed forward at the town hall. Spectre could only slow them before they started to push into the village.

War Neverending Bectera-Desert Region, Sa'Akuhl Arwad Dunes POV-Ara'ek Puntless, Political Ambassador to the Buljacks The Buljacks were living peacefully, amount the dunes. Ara'ek hugged his wife, wrapping his small arms around her with a smile. He spoke in their native language. "I'll see you when I'm home, honey." They kissed by rubbing what looked like noses together and Ara'ek headed out of the tent-like structure. He was a hunter of their small village...yet he was also their Political Ambassador. He had a big job today, to make peace with the planet's moon full of Wa'kambeks. Despite Ara'ek's planet's desert heat, the Wa'kambeks lived on the moon of Cortunate Lon, a cold and rigid planet. The Wa'kambeks were a race of massive beings, covered in fur and scales alike. Strange looking beings, but strong and useful allies. Ara'ek had his rifle with him, a simple beam rifle that did it's job when he shot and brought down animals quickly. Little did he know, there was another hunter out there. One that was not friendly and a Hell of a shot. POV-Spectre Dan was a legend. A killer. A Spectre. That's the nickname he had earned. Now he was going to add to those kills, even if it was illegal for him to do so. With his team of insurgents behind him, he smiled and stepped out into the sand. He pulled his skull mask over his face and set up comms with the team's employers, the Galactic Federal Government. They knew of his history, his background, yet they needed a suicide squad of sorts, full of expendables to complete a mission of immense danger and probability of death. "You guys move ahead, I'll get to the vantage point. Stay hidden soldiers. Best to do so on these missions. Move on to the village." POV-Ara'ek Ara'ek returned to his village with a few good kills. Some small creatures that would serve as food for the village, even though the rest of the city was underground, it would feed what needed food. He returned to his wife, smiling and spoke in the language from before. "I love you...can't wait for peace with the Wa'kambeks." "Neither can I, Ara'ek. Maybe we can celebrate when you get back..." She gave him a smile that would seduce even the toughest of men. He grinned. "Maybe we can that right now..." He leans in to kiss her but gets shoved away in his political uniform. "You'll have to wait. Go save our planet, Mr Hero." She smiles as he drags his feet out of the hut and into the car with escorts on the inside. POV-Spectre "I'm in position. I have visual contact with the target. When I take the shot, move into the village and clear it out." His target's car stops. His heart pumps, adrenaline starting to pump. He slows it. Dan denies his body's excitement and takes aim at his target. Ara'ek Puntless was his name. He had a secondary objective, and that was to kill Serommith, the Wa'kambeks President, while they were in the same spot. It would be simple. Kill them, his team would move onto the village and clear it out. Simple and easy, then the planet would belong to the Galactic Feds and he'd get paid. That's all he wanted. He zoomed in on the shot, feeding the scopes vision to a control hub that the team was working from. A man on comms spoke. "Target confirmed. Take the shot when you can." He breaths again, finger itching to pull the trigger. POV-Ara'ek Ara'ek smiled a bowed at the sight of the Wa'kambekan President. It was a sign of respect and honor. Something that should always be practiced. The Wa'kambekan President smiled and sat down, her dress blowing on the desert wind. The Wa'kambeks were an all female race, excellent fighters, even better allies. The Buljacks weren't natural fighters, they were scientists. He smiled. "Let's get to business." A translator bot spoke for them as Spectre aimed from miles away. POV-Spectre "Copy. Taking the shot in 3. 2. 1." Click BOOOOOM The massive rifle let loose an 80 caliber round of pure death as it recoiled, sending Spectre's shoulder back quite a bit. Possibly even moving the massive man. Ara'ek's head explodes with a massive crimson cloud, spewing all of security guards, the translator bot and the President. He pulled the gun back into control and aimed again, sights on the President and fired. She went down easily, a round through her chest and she fell face forward. "Two confirmed kills. Alpha team, move in. Gimme 5 minutes and I'll get on over watch for you. Bravo, move in and clear out the meeting place." Spectre stood and ran about a mile to the new vantage point, looking over the village. Bravo team moves in, killing, looting and murdering the diplomatic defenders of each side. Stories are told of r@pe after Bravo moved in, but none have been confirmed.
You are Alpha, move in and clear out the village or rebel. You might get shot by Spectre if you rebel. Either way, the rest of this mission will be a retreat for Alpha team.... Welcome to War...
Epilogue The Dread were gone for good... the Universe finally free from their grasp But the cost was not light The Empire was gone for good, and along with it some of the greatest heroes ever known They did not die with a whimper though, but in a fiery blaze not unlike the one that had started the legend Those who managed to make it off the world before it's end disappeared into the corners of the Galaxy, drifting into the background.. And what became of the story of these men and women, who had done so much for a Galaxy that at times, praised them, and at others, persecuted them? Well.... You all should know that... The orator, a young man in his 20's, sitting in front of a group of men and woman of similar age, all wearing suits and equipment that looked to be far beyond that of what was possible with the technology of current time, smirked, and stood up History turned to legend... legend turned to myth.... and myth? To whispers.... Those gathered looked skeptically at him, not believing the story he had been telling them on their long journey through the Hyper-Rift So your telling me, all this actually happened? These guys, Exalin, or Axion. or Cyprus, or whatever they called themselves actually existed...? At this the orator grinned That's up to you to decide. The stories from that time are distorted and old. At this, one of the assembled laughed Well it was interesting, to be sure A beep goes off, and the assembled turn towards a display floating infront of a screen Looks like story time is over. Time to make some stories of our own. A panel on the wall opens, and light floods the room Let's go. The End....For now.

Old Habits Never Die This was it. This was the End. Phantom was surrounded by Dread, some alive, but most were dead. That would change soon enough, as more dropped from the sky He had been fighting for hours, watched and heard as the people he had fought with, comrades, friends even, fled or died Damn you. His own body was in ragged shape, panels torn completely off, his HUD flickering off and on, giving uniintelligible data outputs Dammit... Python? He was receiving Comms chatter from Python, and could hear the General speaking, when a readout from his reactor read it was being breached No... No.... Taking a small device from his side, he tapped it, opening a small Warp, and he dived through it, right before the planet detonated. On the other side, Phantom found himself inside the Command Hub of the Axion Cruiser, having long laid dormant since his first death Hrrghh...... He stumbled down the halls of the Cruiser, moving past old memories: The War Room, with the Exalin Crew picture still displayed inside, the Control Hub, the Quarters..... Looks like the end of the line, Eh guys? He entered the MedBay, systems awakening as they connected to his Genesis Systems Warning, Critical Damage Detected I know..... He stepped up to a Bacta-Tank Activate Fail-Safe...... Alpha-02-394-A21 He removed his helmet, placing it on a nearby table Confirm Activation of Genesis Cryo-Stasis? Yes. He steps inside the Bacta-Tank, the pod sealing shut Activating Permanent Bacta-Cycle As his vision faded, August thought back to all he had experienced during his life.... all his accomplishments.... and failures... He smirked, finally shutting them Heh. The lights in the MedBay flickered off, while the Axion Cruiser itself drifted through space, as cold and empty as the heart of its sole occupant

The burn in his legs, the ache in his heart, made this path all the more real. Beneath him, waves crashed up against the waves outcroppings that made the base of the mountain, and in the distance a massive tempest stormed, slowly making its way towards him. He needed to hurry. He was almost there. Pulling out a carbon-vibranium dagger, the figure leaps twenty feet into the air, using the dagger to anchor himself to the side as he clambered up to the top. Already he felt rain on his face, though they may have been tears as well. Strangely, the top of the mountain was relatively flat, with a few assorted boulders located throughout the site, all surrounding a single, flat rock. Perfect. As the hilt ignited the blade, the hums and whirrs of the device didn't seem quite right. It sounded isolated, lonely, and desperate. When the rain connected with the blade, it sizzled and died away, and the sword burned bright against the gathering fog. He raised the sword above the stone, and closed his eyes, This is for my fallen brothers, This is for the promises that I have left unfulfilled, This is for the life that I would have given for them, and the lives that they saved, This is a testament to their bravery, perseverance, and righteousness, And above all, a monument to all their sins. The blade continued to sizzle and crackle as it crept through the stone, blazing against coming storm. Matthew Hallwinter knew that it would continue to burn, though. This was more than a memory: this was an embodiment of who, and what his friends were, even in their final moments. Unstoppable 'till the end.
