Arkham Knight GOTY

If Arkham Knight doesn't win Game of the Year from all major reviewers/sites/magazines, and MGSV isn't the game that somehow takes it's place, it will become clear that the only fix for our poisoned industry is a video game critic genocide. A gaming industry version of "The Purge", if you will.

Most of you receiving this notification will be glad to know that I have returned to this post to admit I was wrong. Granted, Arkham Knight is probably still gonna remain MY personal GOTY, but I don't expect it to win the award and frankly I'd be surprised if it did, but I'll be super disappointed if it's not even nominated. I've had more than enough time to judge both games and Witcher 3 very well may be GOTY. The story, the combat, the characters, the monsters, all beautiful and well crafted in their own right. Geralt is an awesome protagonist and, not being much into RPG's overall, I can confidently say this is the best one I've ever played, and it sets a new standard for all games of the genre to aspire to. Lastly, I can't praise the post launch support. For that alone I expect CDPR to win Dev of the year. They've been committed to mercilessly stomping out the bugs, and the amount of free DLC they've delivered so far and continue to build for us puts the vast majority of Dev/publisher teams in the industry to shame. This game is a fūcking diamond, a masterpiece, and a must play every gamer who can afford to sacrifice shocking amounts of his/her life chasing monster contracts and watching the world and characters around you evolve to your decisions. Finally, just to be clear, I've LOVED Arkham Knight, but I'm trying to be objective here. I devoured every single piece of content in that game in under a week. It was all beautiful with great characters and all of the badass combat we all expect and then some, and I thought the Batmobile was a fantastic and fresh addition, but none of that changes the fact that I was out of fresh content to play in 6 or 7 days. Plus the $40 season pass was a shameful cash grab... And shows that Rocksteady has allowed WB to force them to conform with the new BS greedy norms of the industry, for shame. The batgirl DLC is like 90 minutes long. And honestly, I've sunk I've sunk at least a couple hundred hours into Witcher 3 and probably still am not far past 50% full game completion. Here's hoping Fallout 4 provides some solid competition. Thanks for reading folks! And feel free to call me an idiot fanboy. I was wrong and I am owning that sh1t.
