This has been my opinion all along. ALL of the illiterate, non spelling morons who use this phrase "Git Gud Scrub" are probably the ones who whined, bitched, moaned, an cried for this nerf. Theyre probably members of the Participation Ribbon generation. The generation that never learned to grow from failure, to adjust, adapt, and overcome. Notice that Cosmo had nothing intelligent to say.

So your point is in order to become OP in game every one should run one of 8 or so of the metabuilds with best guns an armor in game an that being good in game should depend solely on gear and NOT SKILL?

I agree only not quite like that but ya totally I used to suck against the thorn but like the guy said I learned to overcome it and I have a lot of self gratification from it. BTW it helps to own the thorn to learn its weaknesses.

Its currently a 1-2 shot gun u can head shot with HIP FIRE from 80-100 yards away, how is there any skill involved when using thorn? Also what do tell is its weakness cuz currently it can 1-2 shot kill you from any range and within 1/5 a second aka human reaction time to visual stimulus

I think it's best you get a thorn first before making assumptions and making an ass of yourself(no offense). I have never heard of thorn getting 1 headshot kills, and hip fire head shots are kinda hard to get since you know, you're hip firing.

With ALL guns cept snipers there is a crosshair on center of screen this plus auto aim makes hip fire head shots easy, i have exotic bounty for thorn an i DO conduct research on forums so that i can learn damage tables before devoting myself to certain guns that way i know which ones are the good to go for ones as there is only enough vault and pack space a crossed all 3 characters for 10 load outs per character with 3 open slots on each item space in each character left for pick ups I realize some of my claims may be off and am open to certain amount if correction however 154 max crit hit dmg after DOT is conducted plus level advantages (20% roughly of attack in crease and damage resistance per level added to attack and defense statuses or in PvP case impact and defense statuses as damage in PvP is Impact/velocity based) Regards to thorn 1 shot, its happened to me more times than i can count and i have been using ONLY my lvl 32 hunter in PvP an load outs i run range from 31 to 32.5 in light level

154dmg -24.5 dot is 129.5 dmg 129.5x 30% from lvl advantage is 38.85 129.5+ 38.85+ 24.5(dot)= 192 dmg So avg lvl advantage from lvl 32 vs lvl 33 and 34 is 30% (20 per lvl) This means 33 will nearly 1 shot a 32 and a 34 WILL 1 shot a 32 when level advantages are enabled due to 40% level advantage It is possible from what i have researched and I have experienced it (You can tell sn of person who shot you and look up in roster their level so yes you can see who is what level) If im wrong thats fine would simply like some links and references instead of being called an a$$hat No you tube is not credible, i can make a vid there an say what ever i dang please an so can any one else

Generally, when people say a weapon is 1HK, they mean at equal level and with full health... If you're complaint is that Thorn does too much damage to a lower level enemy in Iron Banner, I would follow my previous suggestion and this will no longer be a problem.

190+ dmg outa 200 is pretty dang close to one hit, vs enemy same lvl its 180+ but less than 195 (150 from crit hit then 28.5 from DOT an then plus level advantages)

I use Thorn in PvP and I never have damage anywhere near this from a single shot, so I'm not sure where you're getting these numbers from. On an equal level enemy Thorn does 56 to the body, 84 on a critical, and 112 on a critical with the last round. Even with the DOT total of 42, the max damage you can do from 1 shot (on an equal level enemy) is 154. And since this requires a critical with the last round it isn't going to be happening very often.

I got numbers from planet destiny reddit spreadsheet of all guns in game, As for in game tho i have a health bar when i got hit in iron banner 80% of the time 1 hit plus DOT left me with 5-20% health left when the crit hit and DOT were ONLY dmg I took So between 10-40 HP left after a crit hit plus DOT plus level advantages an thats on my lvl 32.5 hunter (extra may have come from weakness to dmg type or my toughness level)

Firstly 'damage type' has no effect in crucible, and even if it did Thorn does kinetic damage so this is not a factor. Second, the level advantages simply takes your defence value into account. A level 34 guardian will have 1786 defence, and as the defence value is tied directly to the light value of any equipped armor, every level 32.5 guardian will have the same defence value as well. Since in the example you gave above I have no way of knowing whether you were shot by an equal, lower, or higher level enemy, I will assume equal. In this case the highest possible damage you could have taken (from a fully upgraded Thorn) is 154 (including the DOT & final round extra damage). More likely it was a normal critical shot, totalling 126 (including DOT). I have found that using the health bar as a gauge is often misleading. As I know that Her Benevolence does 167 damage on a body shot, this would leave me with 33% health, but judging by the bar it looks closer to 10 - 15%. Level advantages are more than def values Viewable on destiny wikia an referenced from whats shown there as referenced, There is a % of damage output increase for an attack from a higher level vs a lower level There is also a % defense reduction from a lower level vs a higher level as well The two both compound
