"Rebalancing" 2.0 and the poor little Hawkmoon

With the new weapon "rebalancing" coming I can't help but feel like hand cannons are pulling the short straw here. The nerf across the class as well as additional changes Hawkmoon will have 11 changes. It's like the good child that gets punished because of his two shithead brothers (you know who). I assume this is to prevent Hawkmoon from emerging as the new "OP" hand cannon in crucible. We all know that Thorn and LW needed some tuning, ranged shotguns were a little out of hand, and ARs had been practically extinct since 1.1.1 but I've rarely seen many complaints about Black Hammer, Icebreaker and Ghjallajorn (aside from the obvious "I don't have one"). Fusion rifles receiving additional nerfs is somewhat confusing to me as well unless the shotgun nerfs will have such an impact on the way they are used, the Devs felt it was necessary to further reduce the effectiveness of fusion rifles. This also adds to the current vex situation. I'm not going to pass judgment to hastily here. We'll need to see the results of 2.0 before we can truly form an opinion. But I can't shake the feeling that this weapon carousel of nerfs and buffs will just continue forever until no one is satisfied with any weapons. I hope you all have your Hard Lights ready. Here we go again....

  • It wasn't working as intended. LITC and Holding Aces were never intended to stack. All they did was fix a glitch in their coding. As to the rest of the changes (for the class in general), you're right that we will have to wait and see exactly how the changes effect gameplay once the patch drops.
