Isn't it supposed to be more effective at close ranges after the update? I think they want to buff it but not make it a ranged weapon like it was a couple versions ago.

The thing is it is supposed to be a mid-range weapon (they state this even in the update that this "buff" happens) however this update just forces them to be more close ranged meaning they will always be outclassed by shotguns (fusion rifles require a charge while a shotgun just requires a pull of the trigger).
