Fortunately for bungie. It doesn't really matter what you think. It's their forums and their code of conduct. This topic is a dead horse

  • I am pointing out that they are removing posts about cheaters when it does not even fall under violating the code of conduct.

  • They are doing it because it will hurt their reviews of the game, so like our administration....redact...sharpie...delete :p

Your not understanding. Where does it say in there policy anything about naming? It is fine as long as it is the truth. You need evidence. Having a video says it all.

  • No I'm sorry but you are actually the one not understanding. The point is if bungie doesn't want you to do it you can't do it. If you don't like it you are free to leave. There is no legal battle to be fought. Stop pretending you are doing something that matters here.

  • Naming and shaming is a violation. Achronos already explained it to everyone, you can do whatever word Olympics you want to pretend the rules don't apply to what YOU'RE doing. But bungie has the last word and doesn't care what you think.

  • Were does it explicitly say that "Naming and Shaming" is a violation? Please I would like to know...

  • "Naming and shaming" is considered harassment, among other things. This is clearly against the code of conduct. -Achronos

No please show me in either the terms of use, or the code of conduct. What you just posted is something called "Hearsay"

  • I guess you also don't know what hearsay is. That is a direct quote from a bungie employee telling you that naming and shaming falls under harassment which is in the code of conduct. Or would you rather have the second half of the quote? That the mods don't care if you think you're bending words they'll just ban you anyway.

  • Really like how the OP was banned? The fact that he wasn't just shows how wrong you are. I don't believe they are banning "namers and shamers" because of a violation of terms of use. They are removing these posts, because they don't want to have to spend the man hours, manually reviewing, and removing them, after all they have an automated computer system for that.

  • You didn't answer my question. If you got banned for just doing something Bungie didn't like. What would you actually do??? Try to pretend you're a lawyer and ask them to point out where it was specifically in the "contract" your violation was?

  • I believe I answered that in your other post..Now lets say I gave a darn. 1) I would write them a letter requesting a explanation how they came to this decision, and if there was anything I could do, or change to repeal it. To which they could respond, "We don't need a reason, you should know that if you actually read your TERMS OF USE" Then I'd go ehh what ever, I'll just wait the Two Weeks out while I play ESO.

  • Wanna give me the exact wording? Because contracts and the like are serious business about exact wording. You can't uphold it if it's not in there. Which it doesn't seem like it is.

  • Luckily for bungie it's not a contract so it doesn't matter. If they don't like what you're doing they can just ban you. And if you do not like those terms you are more than welcome to not use the forum. It's that simple.

  • By joining this site you did sign a contract, when you clicked the "Terms of use"

  • That's not a contract. Bungie can just kick you out and there is nothing you can do about it. If you don't like those terms you are welcome to not use the forum.

  • It's a contract. Which obviously you didn't read or understand when you agreed to it. Which makes you, the one who really shouldn't be here.

  • I guess we can just keep going back and forth forever. It's not a contract. You have no clue what you're talking about. Let me ask you this. If you posted a video "naming and shaming" and bungie banned you. What would you do about it?

  • I could explain why it's a contract, but like you say it would be just going back and forth, despite I'm not the only person who has told you this. What would I do? Probably just go play E.S.O or CoD for a while. It wouldn't bother me one bit. Let me tell you something. I was falsely accused of cheating back in the day when I was playing CoD MW2. I managed to pull off an amazing clutch. At the end, of course came all the homophobic slurs and name calling from the Enemy team. I simply said, well next time I'm going beat you ever worse, which I did. Well this only infuriated them even more, then one guy kept PM'ing me calling me every insult in the book. Well he sent me one last Pm "I've got my 200 player clan to report you, enjoy the perrma ban" So to me the fact that someone can carelessly push a button, and report someone. Is ruthless and twisted. I believe people, having to have actual video evidence is much more humane and moral... And BTW, I called Xbox support, and had that so called permanent ban removed in under 30 mins ;)

  • It's not a contract. However. Lets pretend we live in your fantasy world where it is. How does this line work? 'Bungie has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, Bungie reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. Bungie reserves the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever." You think Achronos has no clue and that the verbiage must be spot on. It doesn't. He is just trying to help so the ninjas don't just toss you.

  • Well first let me say, I'm glad you finally read the "Terms of Use" But you left the part out where it says: " Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information." Now here's your own words in another post
Welcome to the -blam!-ing internet. Literally made for talking shit
Which to some could be found a little profane. Yet you feel that these "Namers and Shamers" should be banned. When you have clearly violated those terms yourself? Now before you go and dredge up every thing I've ever said, lets be clear. I'm probably guilty of it to. I don't feel anyone should be punished for expressing themselves. Even if it's naming and shaming.

  • Terms of agreement, you agreed right? You entered into them. Either way, it wouldn't happen if bungie did something about cheaters. I'm personally hoping that they start banning cheaters who have video proof against them. I'm not big on the name and shames but I do believe we have a right to know who the cheaters are. Bungie has been proving that they're trash who would rather ban someone for trying to show others who to look out for than actually ban someone for cheating.

  • The ninjas on this forum and the people who ban cheaters in game are not the same people. Posting videos of cheaters here is not as effective as just reporting them.
