So it looks like Vex Hydra kills and strike completions are not updating.

Hydra (and ogres) kills only count from red health bar enemies. Majors and ultras (yellow health bar) do not count. Strike completions only count when launched from the planetary menu. Strike playlists, weeklies, night falls do not count towards grimoire

Well that sucks. So I have to go on patrols to finish the bounty. Pretty hard to find a red bar hydra

Is recommend doing the black garden mission on the easiest difficulty. There is a hydra right at the end at the last checkpoint, you can kill it in about 5 seconds, wipe, re spawn and repeat.

Valley of the Kings on Mars (the area with the Black Garden Gate). There's a red bar Hydra respawning all the time.

Like he said. It spawns every minute or two on patrol in Valley of the Kings. If you need weapon kills as well you can double up. I was farming hydras and shotgun kills there at the same time.
