The gods must hate me...

I got an email from Microsoft this afternoon explaining that my console was logged into "from an unidentified location outside your current region" and when I signed onto Destiny a few minutes ago I found that two of my three characters were deleted. I had a Titan that was Level 34, a Warlock that was Level 9, and a Level 2 Hunter. The Titan and Warlock were deleted and so was the gear in my vault. Luckily my Hunter survived, most likely because of being level 2, and all I have left is the Celestial Nighthawk and Purifier Robes that I bought last week and this week. Other games as well as my Xbox Live profile were effected by the breach in security but thanks to assistance from Microsoft it's been resolved and I have assurances that my new credentials are completely secure, but all my in-game content was completely deleted on Destiny and several other games. Is there something that can be done to get me my gear back? Or if not is there some way to at least help me get back to where I was with non-light level or reputations? Anything would help. Oh and is anyone else having this problem? It'd be nice to connect the community that's being so heinously abused.

  • As it turns out, Bungie is actually unable to restore Guardians, weapons, gear and progress. I would highly suggest that you make sure you have your Xbox Live or PSN account locked down with security settings as I would be more concerned regarding that if you have any personal information attached to it. As for your Destiny progress, you will simply have to re-earn the items that you lost during this.     • Unfortunately, there is no possible way to recover deleted characters or gear regardless of the reason. There are methods to prevent this from happening again though. Be sure to never share your password with anybody, and there are security measures you can view through Xbox.com and help.bungie.net.

      • You can probably get some helpful players to help get you back up to speed. Bungie won't do anything as per policy. I'm not on xbox so I can't really help you out.

        • Sry some one from another region (if ur in USA some one from europe or asia ect...) hacked your live account remotely. You can contact microsoft an demand compensation or sue due lack of remote access security but prolly nothing will be done to help ya WELCOME TO CLOUD INTERNET

          • They can't do anything in terms of restoring gear or weapons. Especially since it's Microsoft's error. That's their policy. Let the grind go on. And hopefully your system is more secure.
