Does anyone know if you can check which specific chests you still need? I know you can check how many you have per planet, but I'm curious to know the specific chests I need.

don't think so, same with dead ghosts I collected all 5 chests on Mars but it only gave me credit for 4. went back and none of the chests are available

http://destinyghosthunter.net Dead ghosts actually have a very good way to check. I'm looking for a similar resource as the above.
