A vast majority of Destiny's PvP maps are very suitable to CQCB which is why scout rifles are not used that often. Only in maps like First Light Bastion and Skyshock are scout rifles really a valuable primary to have equipped. Scout Rifles also require skill to use which the vast majority of Destiny players don't have seeing as all they can do is use Thorn. With a Scout Rifle, you must consecutively land 3-4 maybe 5 hits in the head in a row while under pressure and possibly having to deal with flinching from enemy fire. Truth is, I doubt many players out there are capable of this. Now to those who are going to say "I bet I can do that" then do it. Equip a VOC or Scholar or what have you and see if you can maintain your current average K/D while still playing the way you currently do. The maps do not provide any advantages to Scout Rifles with there TTK times being much higher than many other popular weapons and the poor performance at close ranges.

I use my NL Shadow with full auto and fierfly all the time

1.58 K/D with Scout Rifles as my most used primary (I have more kills with Snipers, however, as I have never stopped using them for a prolonged period, I frequently change primary weapons)

I apologize, I was mistaken, you have used pulse rifles the most this month. My argument does not hold true in this instance due to the fact that you did not use scout rifles the most.

For the record, I'm not nearly good enough to survive using a Sniper alone, I'm not the machine that is kjhovey or anything like that

This is primarily due to my lust for Grimoire, with Pulse Rifles requiring the most work (exactly 2625 kills to max it out). Given that I have an Adept Messenger and I need Pulse Rifle kills, why not combine the two and make progress while reliably beating Thorn? Two birds with one stone, in my eyes.

I did not say everyone was bad with scout rifles. I do notice however that your k/d has decreased since june and you have been using Scout Rifles the most this month. A correlation can be drawn that since you are using Scout Rifles recently your k/d has dropped as a result. Perhaps your sniper is the only thing keeping it as elevated.
