New Exotic Sidearm Idea, "Spite" Revised

New Exotic Weapon Idea, “Spite” "Do not stare directly at the Su... Void." I have seen and used both of the new sidearms added with HoW, and I was fairly disappointed with their overall gameplay and use. They do not accomplish their goal as a backup weapon. Other weapons could do what they were designed to do, but better. Example: Plan C. I feel like sidearms, due to their low damage and range, should behave as more support weapons, that give buffs or debuffs. That made me think of a new exotic sidearm that would be of a great use in both PvE and PvP, but more more useful in the PvE spectrum. It is called "Spite." TLDR: Spite is an exotic sidearm that allows the user to reduce the armor rating on enemies with consecutive shots from the weapon. Crits reduce more armor that body shots will. The armor reduction will cap at 35% on PvE and 50% in PvP. PvP will take considerably less shots to cap the debuff. The weapon also grants a massive weapon swap speed when the debuff has hit the cap on a target, allowing for an easy kill with a primary or secondary in PvP, and with heavy in PvE. Weapon Stats: Damage Type: Void Impact: 3 Rate of Fire: 100 Range: 75 Stability: 85, 95 with Perfect Balance Reload: 15, 40 with Speed Reload Magazine: 20, 21 with Field Scout Zoom: 15 Recoil: 70 Equip Speed: 100 Aim Assist: 90 Spite’s perks would be as follows: Option Between (Smooth Ballistics, Accurized Ballistics, Linear Compensator) Triple Tap, Option between ( Field scout, Perfect Balance, Speed Reload,) Voidfang's Dream. The perk Voidfang's Dream behaves as follows: Shots from Spite reduce enemy's armor upon impact. Caps up to 35% armor reduction. Critical hits will reduce more armor than body shots. Crit = 3%, Body shot = 1%. Debuff uncapped, will last 1 second. Successive shots will refresh the debuff before fully capped. Once the debuff has hit its cap, the debuff will stay active for 5 seconds and can not be refreshed during this time. During the 5 seconds, the user gains massive weapon swap speed to help deal damage as well. Once the 5 seconds are over, the debuff will be removed. (Note: The armor reduction does not stack higher with multiple people using Spite, though it can be stacked even quicker with multiple people.) PvE Use and feel: This weapon is designed to be that support go to weapon for crippling high tier enemies and bosses. With great communication and execution, huge amounts of damage can be dealt to bosses and high tier enemies. The user is meant to feel personally rewarded for getting crits, and be rewarded by seeing the extra damage brought by the entire team. I also did not want the support to be stuck using only this gun for the entire boss fight, so I put in the weapon swap speed to give even the support player the feeling of doing damage and not just being “The support.” Though, with this gun being an exotic and taking your special slot, it majorly cripples the user ability to deal burst damage to charging foes and enemies who are already close, leaving the user very vulnerable. Not to mention, because of the need for continuous fire, it leaves the user open for return fire from enemies, further increasing the vulnerability of the user. PvP Changes: This weapon will behave differently in PvP than it would in PvE. Armor reduction debuff is increased to 50% Two crits, one crit and one body shot, or three body shots will max the debuff. Crit = 35%, Body shot = 20% The targets armor reduction stays until health regen is triggered. User also gains the weapon swaps speed buff for the time the debuff is fully capped. By doing this I hope to make it a viable weapon in PvP, while still keeping the same feel for the gun. I really wanted to see more teamwork oriented weapons in Destiny. As of right now, all support minded choices are locked into subclasses and abilities, and a single set of armor based on orb generation and revives. Some game modes don’t allow for resurrections, eliminating the set of armor. The lord of wolves has a buff towards teammates, but due to its very short range, it effects a few, if not none, of the users allies. These choices almost eliminates all supports choices in destiny, other than defender titans. Spite offers the support feel to any class, rewards teamwork and communication, and gives the "Sidearm" a fighting chance in the Destiny Universe. Cosmetics: The weapon will highlight targets shot from Spite with a purple vortex effect over their head. The vortex would have little pops similar to the scatter grenade particles. Targets who have been shot by this gun will see a debuff icon appear on their screen similar to all other buff given by other players or abilities. I personally didn't think much into the look of this weapon. I was more focused onto its uses and stats. Though, I have had some rough mental sketches of what it would look like. It would be small, sleek, very round at the barrel, and create a void vortex effect at the center of the clip. I want it to have a not intimidating look, but more of a giver of false safety. Think of the pistol in Men in Black, that was given to Will Smith. Minus the entire explosion part. Comment below with modification ideas and just general feeling towards the gun! I have been thinking of developing an exotic bounty for the gun as well, so any ideas for that would be appreciated. I do want it to involve the lore of the Voidfang Vestments however.
