Skolas strategy tips

Ladies and gentlemen, I had my first attempt at PoE 35 last night, my team got up to Skolas relatively comfortably, however come the fight we just didn't seem to making much progress. Can anyone offer any strategies that may help? We tried the left side strategy but found we get over run pretty quickly so would have to move. Is clearing the adds first a good idea before attempting to damage Skolas? A side note we only have 1 Ghallarhorn in the party and he refuses to level it so ideally strategies that don't involve that would be helpful. We ran with the following load outs. Defender Titan - 365 VoC, 365 black hammer/331 arc shotgun, then either truth or thunderlord. 2 blade dancers - vex/365 VoC, ice breaker/arc shotgun, Hezen vengeance All level 34 Thanks

When the heat gets too much, I have my fireteam run a "lap" around the arena to take some of it off. It's important to stick together so you can cleanse your teammates. Separating at any point will most likely result in SOMEONE dying.

  • As above go to the left then rotate after doing dps on him to the right. Clear adds and rotate if splash damage gets crazy Only have to worry about 1st set of mines if you have horns Make sure skolas'a health is just above SK on his name and ghorn him to death-you should kill him just as mines come and have a very easy time getting to them when the mobs all vanish after his death Last time we even got 3 primary drops from him, scout, pulse and hand cannon! Wasn't expecting that and whole team was rewarded

  • I'd suggest getting some arc primaries and secondaries cause those guns minus thunder lord is trash for killing captains which will be the main things to watch for. Just rotate around the map killing adds then damage skolas. Continue rotating and killing adds then when they are gone damage skolas. Take him to about 55 % health then kill adds before taking him to 50% when mines spawn. Continue till 30% kill adds before taking to 25% when mines spawn again. Main thing is rotating together around the edge of the map and add management. Just go in expecting 15 to 20 min fight and don't get crazy going 1 on 1 with captains or mobs and you'll be fine.

my team have never done that w/ that load outs but we tend to use 1 warlock 1 titan and 1 hunter strat for skolas. reasons for that i will explain. im not good at english but i hope you'll understand. 1. as soon as you get out turn right and go up to the top platform or the far right side of the map. 2. don't focus on skolas, always clear the ads. once you clear the ads then send som1 to kill servitor and then hit him w/ everything you have. 3. if you're running w/ 3 ghorn it would be easy to break the link in 1 servitor kill, if not then you most likely need the 2nd servitor. if the bonds are not broken, don't rush to find the other servitor since ads will spawn so just do steps 2 again. 4. once you break the bonds start killing ads again and once you are clear it just chip away skolas's health till almost half before the mines spawn. 5. the reason we usually do 1 of each class is for this reason. we tend to rotate the essence so the last person getting it is the warlock. it goes like this if the hunter gets the first essence the second to pick it up is titan and then warlock. or just follow this rotation. Hunter---->Titan---->warlock or Titan---->warlock---->hunter or warlock--->hunter--->titan. 6. Right before you start shooting at skolas again to spawn the mines we will start shooting at him right after the hunter gets the essence so by the time the mines spawn, the titan could take it from him and he can go disarm them w/out worrying about the essence, the titan and warlock will stay at the platform since the ads and skolas follows where 2 or more guardians are at. so if only the hunter goes to the other side and middle mine they won't follow him and it would be easier for him. 7. the reason why we do step 5 is so that if in any case the warlock will be the last to get the essence and if he dies before the hunter could return then he could just self res. 8. after dismantling mines then start shooting at skolas till almost 1/4 hp then kill the ads like the usual. 9. just like before before making the mines spawn just time it again when the hunter gets the essence again. 10. after doing that feel free to kill skolas however you want to. some people tend to dismantle mines as a group and it just doesn't work for my team since ads and skolas just follows all of us but if only 1 goes to dismantle all the ads and skolas will stay where the other 2 are staying at. the right platform is easier since ads don't usually come up there. note. you don't have to be 1 class of each. if you don't have 1 class of each as long as there is a hunter you can do it pretty easy to dismantle mines since you can stay safe there to revive the fallen teamate safely. im going to try to upload some videos on how we do it, we do it w/ ghorn but the strat would be the same even if you don't have ghorn. hope this helps.
