Don't dismantle your Stranger Rifle.
With Bungie you never know if it's actually a key to a Easter egg.
The Stranger hands it to you. This could be Bungie's way of saying this is important for other things.

If you use it exclusively and go flawless in ToO, Bungie invites you to their HQ and you get to throw rotten tomatoes at everyone. Well worth the attempt.
