There are a few popular members that don't suck. Think Recon and DTL.

That popularity persisted because they're genuinely cool people (and the same goes for you as well, mate), while most individuals nowadays usually only earn recognition for being female or infamous. There's exceptions, of course, but those are the unfortunate minority.

The immature ones will learn that they're better off actually making friends instead of wasting their time on the forum and being intolerable.
