I'm more interested to know how a non-living thing becomes corrupted. And why we can't have a similar effect on other guns. I'd like to be able to imbue my weapon with the subclass's element. Just imagine being able to sacrifice a fraction of your super to give the current weapon's magazine an elemental imbuement. It wouldn't have an effect in PvP, it wouldn't render raid drops completely irrelevant (after all they'd be saving you super energy for the same effect) and people would be able to capitalize on burns.
