Yes. The quest could be a strike where 3 guardians have to hold off very difficult enemies while their Thorns are in the purifying chamber. They have to survive until the process is complete. Then they must face the devourer that was contained within Thorn and defeat it by using Rose.

Rose should be a personal quest. Sure friends can join, but the focus is on the player. Just like the thorn quest.
