Do people get killed by grenades? I'm pretty awful at PVP (really awful), but I don't think I've ever got more than one or two grenade kills, and while I'm sure I must have been killed by grenades before, I can't think of a single time it's happened off the top of my head. I mostly use and see grenades used as suppression tools or thrown in desperation. They often do damage, but they rarely kill. At least in my experience. Obviously it may not be the same for you, but I'm kind of surprised to hear that you think it's such a big deal. Also, the options you present in your poll are offputting enough that you made me not want to answer it.
